Do not fall in to the rhetoric that it is a democratic election because of Bush's unfavorable rating.  Congress unfavorable rating is 12% about 55% less then Bush.

Moreover, since getting elected to the majority in congress in 2006 the democrats have failed miserably.  They failed to de-fund the war.  They failed in bringing the troops home.  They have even failed in non-military related issues.

Therefore, what do liberal news commentators mean that it is a democratic year?  What they mean is that they hope Obama wins because he is their candidate.  In my opinion, they are trying to scare of conservative from the polls. Over the weekend I read a story in the newspaper of Clinton fast-tracking citizen applications in order for these new citizens to have a chance to vote for him. Turns after an investigation to this process a lot of fraud was uncovered.  What politicians will do to get elected.

It is because congress, under the control of democrats, has failed that it is my opinion that it is a republican election year.  People want results.  All they have seen is one failed democrat effort after another.  Furthermore, some of the policy initiatives of these democrats are highly suspicious.  By this I mean the same old practice of congress reps attaching pet projects in their district to critical legislation, like funding military operations in Iraq.  There is no longer a war in Iraq.  America and Iraq are now partners.

In addition, I think many get it.  Sometimes the average individuals mind set worries me.  I worry about how they see the issues.  I worry about how they will vote.

However, I think that many still recognize that America is still under a great threat from Muslim extremist.  This point is not just because I listen to people who call in to conservative radio programs.  In my taxi I hear people comment about their concerns related to terrorism.

I think it would be a mistake for people to think that because Bush will be leaving office there will be less terrorism.  Terrorist will always be around.  Some how they convinced them selves that America is a threat to them.  Many extremist believe they are living in critical religious times.  Therefore, even today terrorist are planning and attempting to act out their violent intent.

This is of great concern to many of us.  All I see from democrats is the attitude that we who want terrorist to be hunted down are the problem.  On many liberal news programs I hear the comments of why don't we just let them alone?

If we leave them alone something else worst than 9/11 will happen to America.  I know they are planning greater attacks. These attacks will result in mass casualties and great destruction.  This is not something we can calm about.

Therefore, democrats in congress have failed.  This failure has resulted in an 12% unfavorable rating.  Furthermore, democrats have no realistic plan to combat terrorism.  Avoiding terrorist is not going to make them go away.

If it is anybodies year, it is the republicans.

You know, for a guy who is constantly attacked for being an illegal immigrant, your English writing is somewhat impressive. But I have to wonder why you never comment on your own artciles? Why do you spend so much time writing about you opions on politics that hardly anyone comments on and you yourself chose to avoid once posted? Do you ever feel you need to make a stand on you opinions? Or does simply having people read and think about your comments satisfy you curiousity for writing on JU?

In all the comments I have read I would say less than three sound like comments from rational intelligent and respectful people.

I do not comment or reply to comments simply because vile vicious and immature attacks warrant no comment.

My writing is to fulfill my sense of obligation to inform.  Most of modern liberal rhetoric in my opinion is useless and won't help a person live an enjoyable and satisfying life.

The reality is that if one person takes control of his or her life and builds a rewarding life because of my opinion I will feel good and happy for that person.

In closing, this is also a growth process. By writing I have gotten to know my self better.  In others I have had to confront myself.

But you should defend your position, if you feel strongly enough about it (and you do seem to be passionate about, judging from the amount of articles you write) . There will always be people that disagree with you, some will offensive. I think most adults would agree that it's about your opinion here at JU and they can choose to either agree or disagree with what you write, or ignore it.

I've read many of your articles, but I agree with CharlesCS, if you don't respond, no exchange of ideas can occur, and your writing becomes a manifesto. Just don’t feed the fire when it comes to personal attacks, I think most here can recognize that and do not support it.
