Better Americans yet to come.

Why don’t Americans vote?  Sixty percent just cannot be bothered to take a stand.  I was watching some of the democrat convention and two thoughts came to mind.  One is this democrats really do like their lies.  The other thought was where is the American voter?

On the issue that America is not respected in the international theater it is shameless of Obama, Clinton, and Biden to perpetrate such a lie on the American people.  Before Iraq Germany, France, Spain, Mexico, and others were struggling with a high percentage of citizen's anti-America sentiment.  However, it has been well reported the economic reasons why many of these nation’s leaders took the attitude against Bush and America.

Now, however, Germany and France have pro-American governments.  The British continue to be pro-American.  The new president of Mexico made one of his new initiatives to declare war on the drug traffickers, which is something American governments have wanted for ages. Israel is still a good working partner.  We have seen the extent that Columbia holds America in high esteem.  We have no problems with Japan.  Australia still likes America.  The French president, who is the president of the EU, just took sides with Bush in the crisis in Georgia against the Russians. North Korea was stopped being a pain and reduced its interest in nuclear ambitions after multi-lateral talks with the US and other nations.

Now, on the economy, the democrat’s lies are even bigger.  I just spent some time reviewing “economic indicators” of America that are listed on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York web site.  Bush started his presidency experiencing economic challenges for some quarters in 2000, 2001, and 2002.  However, overall the economy has produced and maintained growth through the majority of Bush’s presidency.  I listed the hyperlink so the reader could review the evidence for him or her self.

An interesting fact is that in 2006 some economic decline begin and then this year , 2008, economic decline advanced.  I find myself asking what could of happened for an economy showing growth for the last six to seven years to all of a sudden start declining?  Well, democrats took control of Congress in 2006 election.  The new senators and representatives did not take office until January 2007, when the majority of the new economic decline started.

Moreover, in 2008 economic decline is more pronounced.  Gas in 2006 was $2.08 here in El Paso, Texas.  In 2008 regular gas rose to around $4.05.   Today, August 28, 2008 regular gas is around $3.68 in El Paso.  When I was looking at the economic charts it was obvious that gas started increasing when the new congress was chosen in 2006 and continued until about 2 months ago.  The new economic decline also begin at the time the new congress took office.

Now, am I making this up?  No I am not. The evidence is there.  Second, I have stated in previous articles that I have honed the presidential debate for 2008 to be about the respect or lack of respect the Federal Government has for the private property rights of the American citizens.

Governments do not build economies.  Companies and private citizens decide to take a risk and start businesses.  Government in policy initiatives either fuels confidence in investment or stunts confidence in the investor.  What do you think statements like “ I am going to give every citizen a $1000 from oil companies profits” do for investor confidence?  The person who may receive this money is probably drooling a lake.  However, investors are probably going to delay opening stores, building new businesses, growing their present business, and any other activity that will lead to profit for fear of “government stealing" it from them”.

Look, let’s be fair.  The American economy during Bush’s presidency has faced the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the frenzy in the real estate market, international conflicts, vile vicious democrats and liberal wanting to do everything to make Bush fail, and high oil prices. Things could be a whole lot worst.  I remember all the supposed economic experts saying 9/11 was going to kill the American economy.  Every one who knew that the growth in real estate was false warned of the time the real estate bubble would burst.  Private citizens were buying homes, not to live in them but to sell them.  This gave the impression that home sales were good.  Then, all these homes could not be solve and scrupulous lenders started giving loans to people that these people could not afford.  Oil prices have resulted in an increase in almost all goods and services.  Yet, the American consumer continues to purchase.  Just recently I heard reported on the radio that consumer confidence grew in August.

Therefore, for all intense and purposes the American economy should be scorched earth.  Yet even with the extreme challenges this economy has faced it continues to perform.  The common factor is the American who is a producer.  It is American to get up and handle our business.  Obama, thinks we should all be crying in our milk because of recent economic challenges.  The American just performs an analysis, plans, and gets to work.  Good for you Americans.  These are the people government should be helping by not interfering in their progress.

It is tragic that people could be so personally obsessed with winning a presidency that they would try and kill American progress.  Last, nights comments of Bill Clinton at the democrat convention mad me mad.  When he said that the American economy was in crisis the audience members all started cheering ecstatically.  Are there really a group of people that cheer at supposed American failure?  Well, there are and they are called liberal democrats.

Some how in life I got in to looking at politics and social policy.  Furthermore, by studying psychology I understand what motivates man.  Nothing good comes of the liberal ""do what you want attitude".  The social decline in America in the last forty years is the result of liberal-democrat social policy.  Abortion does not enhance society in any way.

Okay, I could bash the democrats till the "second coming".  That is not my purpose.  America is still appreciated and revered by the international community.  Ask the Georgians if they are not happy with the American aid they have received?  Why has Germany and France shifted to a pro-American sentiment?  The "coalition of the willing" who entered Iraq with America is still with the US.  Thank you all good people of these nations.  We are brothers and sisters in arms standing up against that which looks for the opportunity to take the dignity away from life.  I feel great solidarity with all of you.  In addition, just like you I am not prepared to let this be the generation who turns its back on God's greatest creation, life.

We have many challenges to overcome.  Politicians like Obama want to tear down accomplishments and achievements.  However, as long as I am alive I will keep my mind and fingers working to correct their lies.  People in America are not bad people.  Their goodness is still respected.  In addition, the American who loves to work, loves to see America work.  America's better days are still ahead of her because better Americans are still to come.

Very well written, very well researched, THanks

In each paragraph I read I could see the liberal talking points to rebut them and laughed. You hit this one out of the park!

You are correct that liberals would rather lose wars, put people out of work, and destroy the economy just to elect their kind of people. The problem with this is that once they get in power they don't have a clue on how to fix what they broke or repair the damage they did to get into power.

Give me more, I liked this.

American's don't vote because the politicians know that if the masses actually show up to the polls those in the major parties will likely lose.  They put out negative ads and the media puts up stories about them everyday so that the average person is so sick of hearing about the election and so jaded by the process that they don't bother showing up.  This tends to leave the extremists on both sides (the far right conservatives, and the far left liberals) to pick who runs our country.  It has worked for the major parties for many, many years and they aren't likely to change any time soon.

As for where is the American voter, I think you are missing the point of the convention.  the conventions are for the delegates not for the people.

The new senators and representatives did not take office until January 2007, when the majority of the new economic decline started.

You are correct that the economy started it's major plunge at that time but it is merely a correlation.  Housing started it's decline around the same time, but that wasn't the fault of the Democrats, it was the fault of the banks and moree specifically The Fed.  The banks had been making very risky loans to people who had no business borrowing money because The Fed was making money very cheap for banks to get ahold of.  This eventually led to the housing collapse and it started long before the Democrats took control of congress.

The other thing to keep in mind when talking about the economy is perception.  The economy as a whole can be doing very well but if joe and jane public are being stretched thin at home for any reason they will perceive the economy to be in a slump even if it's not.  That is what has been happening more than anything out there.  Yes energy is up and housing has it's problems but it is the perception of a recession that is causing that dreaded word to be tossed around all the time.

As for the democrats attempting to belittle Bush and company, that's what politicians do.  It is good for the democratic party to say that the economy is in shambles, whether it is or not, because that means that Bush is doing a bad job so joe and jane voter should vote for democrates to take control.  It is good for the democrats to say that we are hated across the world, whether it is true or not, because again it means that Bush must be wrong and a Democrat would do better.  The same will happen next week at the RNC.  The Republicans will say that the Democratic controlled congress has been horrible and that Republicans should be elected to stop them.  This is just all politics as usual, which is why I don't watch the conventions.

Beware of spurious relationships. For example I have found that as the prison population in my country increases, so to has my age. Does that mean if the population was to fall I would be younger? Now if you were to point to various decisions taken by congress which would have affected the economy/oil prices for the worse, and back them up with the charts, you would have a point. But simply pointing to two lines that go up at the same time (or two events that coincide) isn't enough if there is no reason behind why the events might be related, and why the one event is a causal relationship.

What do you think statements like “ I am going to give every citizen a $1000 from oil companies profits” do for investor confidence?

Agreed, it was upon hearing this policy of Obamas that I lost much of my respect for him (some of which had been gained from his opposition to the gas holiday proposed by McCain/Clinton IIRC earlier on), because it is an ill-thought through populist measure that will backfire.

Nothing good comes of the liberal ""do what you want attitude"

It can do. Providing doing what you want does not impact negatively on anyone, what's wrong with it? In fact that is the approach that should be taken except in such situations, because it will maximise societies welfare. My problem is with liberals and conservatives who oppose such a policy, because they think they know best, or they want to impose their own views on someone else.

Last, nights comments of Bill Clinton at the democrat convention mad me mad.  When he said that the American economy was in crisis the audience members all started cheering ecstatically

Aside from the issue of people cherring negative news, what is wrong with pointing out such negative news? By recognising that there is a problem you are then in a better position to deal with it and result in a better situation. Perhaps you should look at it another way - Clinton+Obama+other democrats might not necessarily be looking to bash the economy/america, but rather see that it could be better than it's current state, and want to point that out.

"Bush started his presidency experiencing economic challenges for some quarters in 2000, 2001, and 2002.  However, overall the economy has produced and maintained growth through the majority of Bush’s presidency."

This is exactly correct!!!

I have long recognized the deception associated with the so-called "Clinton Economy."  Based on the clear deception associated with the misuse of a $5.6 trillion surplus budget projection to the state of the economy when Clinton left office, I prepared several youtubes and a website dealing with the deceptions.  As a CPA that has spent a career looking at deceptions, the political tactics are obvious.  The youtubes are at http://www.youtube.com/reportcard2000

Thank you.
