Are stay-at-home moms really dangerous?
Published on March 24, 2006 By jesseledesma In Politics
I knew I would be spending a lot of time on politics. It just seems that things just keep popping up that get my attention.

In addition, I do not believe that we get to spend our life just watching life as a spectator. Everything politicians do will in one way or another affect our lives. It will influence how much we can earn, learn, and do.

Currently what is on my mind is a report from Focus on the Family on a woman who made claims that stay at home moms are a danger to society on an ABC television program.

My first thought is that there are problems and then there are problems. To me this does not rate. For any person to make such a claim shows their lack of intelligence and does not deserve the time of day.

I am greatly concerned about the Christian community loosing sight of the “Great Commission” to evangelize the world.

Moreover I do not see a society of conflicted stay at home moms. In my opinion they are okay with what they are doing. If a society is to have a chance somebody better be there to raise the children correctly.

Hence, if I do believe this little diatribe is so such a non-issue why do I respond to it. Well I do see it as a bigger agenda.

There is a lot of talk about a woman running for president in 2008. Let me say in my opinion Ms. Hillary Clinton does not have the integrity to serve as a crossing guard, much less a senator, or president of the most important country on the planet.

When her husband wanted to study health care in America she some how got appointed to head the study. Wouldn’t a person with some medical training been a better choice. I know I saw Ms. Clinton look right in to the camera while she was being interviewed by Ms. Walters and state something like a woman knows her husband and I know my husband did not have sex with that woman. It has been reported that when Ms. Clinton recorded that interview she actually knew that her husband had in fact had sex with that woman.

Really if you need a woman to champion your cause pick some one with integrity and honor like Ms. Candi Rice, or any one else then H. Clinton.

I am sure America has many qualified women to be president regardless of political affiliation.

This brings me to my last point. Every thing in American politics happens because of all the people who are just spectators and do not vote, in my opinion.

I fear the democrat agenda. Abortion, government hand outs, condoms in the schools, gaymarriages, love the criminal, decriminalization/legalization of drugs, thinking that terrorist will go away if we just avoid then pose a great a threat to society.

Does any one actually believe that any democrat politician accomplished their personal successes by being lazy, addicted to drugs, aborting their children, and hiding from life?

I don’t think so. Moreover if this was not good for their family why should it be good for us.

Hard work and sacrifice is required to have any kind of success in life. Today, America needs her people to do the hard work, register to vote, and vote.

Yesterday, I asked myself what if I am wrong and the majority votes in favor of democratic ideals?

I do not believe I am wrong. In my opinion the majority values family and personal responsibility. They just suffer from being made to feel guilty by liberals.

I would say do not be afraid of what you believe. Value the good in life and support it.

In addition, GET OUT AND VOTE.

I feel the same way you do about many issues you relate. I'm not one that promotes the 'great cause' all that much, but I think we most certainly can effect change in our nation that reflects our values, religious or not.

I think the main thing that helps is getting beyond the fear of these things. As long as we retain control of our lives and family, there's no real invasion of these values into our homes. We can choose what to watch, how to act, and how to instruct our kids so that they have an alternate view when people try to push these ideals on them.

Fear is the one thing people like us are most ridiculed for. If we oppose homosexuality it is because homosexuals scare us. If we oppose drug legalization it is because we are afraid of 'expanding our minds'. Fear is the one thing that invalidates our opinions as being knee-jerk and uneducated to people who think they know more than we do.

The one thing that helps the most is learning about everything you despise, I think. If you know all that you can from your position in the world, then people can't accuse you of just believing what you are told to believe. When people ask you why you believe something you can answer them with your own thoughts, and not just rattle off a scripture or tell them what you read on a website.

This is a good blog, and good for you for standing up for what you believe in. Don't think all "liberals" are what you describe, though. The word is abused in American society to mean fire-breathing Leftists or amoral apologists for any and every sin. Real "liberals" are accepting people who can see things from any side and are generous in their allowance for other people's beliefs. There are more of the real ones out there than you might think.

I am surprised to see ABC still on the stay at home mom kick.  I thought when they got their teeth kicked in back in February, they would have pulled back and quit advocating something that clearly the majority of Americans can at worst accept, and at best believe strongly in.

i've been sitting here rereading this for well over 8 minutes and i still can't dredge up anything even close to appropriate as a response or adequately expresses how impressed i am by this...and you.

They just suffer from being made to feel guilty by liberals. I wouldn't phrase it this way: there are many career women across the political spectrum who believe that even a hired nanny is a more effective substitute. It is not guilt but rather a mother's momentary sadness in leaving children behind as one would in leaving a pet behind. Both children and mom get over it.

"i've been sitting here rereading this for well over 8 minutes"

Thanks, but I am as bad as anyone for abusing the word. I'm trying harder lately not to. It's easy to forget that you are not only dealing with all of America, but also the whole world. "Liberal" in other nations is nothing resembling what many of us on the far right are referring to when we spit the word.

I'm sure there are millions of "Liberals" in America that fit the true description too, though why we don't hear from them more I'll never know. I guess they are just too damned "Liberal" and accepting to be offended enough to rant. At least the few we have around here make their presence known

I still slip from time to time, but I'm trying.
