what will be left for the children

Legacy.

I think that the most important threat to American society and humanity is childish and bad attitude.

Mature people are needed to confront the serious challenges that life presents, not people trying to sound important and with a bad need to be listened to.

To me the pervasive negative cruel attitude in the average person’s heart is what is responsible for the majority of social ills.

Here, I am talking about crime, teenage pregnancy, gangs, drugs, corruption, and basic run of the mill hate.

It takes practice to develop good behaviors and a positive healthy attitude. I believe a positive and healthy attitude is a major assistance to meeting the challenges of life.

Today, I had a conversation with a person who spouts the philosophy that government should do for the people.

I believe JFK was right in asking, “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what can you do for your country.”

Lately, I have been on a bad attitude kick. I hate to think of what will happen if people continue in the direction they are currently on.

When I talk to people, I notice that they are good at repeating what the spin doctors put out in the media.

This leads me to think that they have no original thoughts of their own.

In addition, since I believe that we are products of our environment I am concerned about the next generations.

I see many people dissatisfied with their lives, complaining about their circumstances.

Well, neither the government nor I is responsible for people not having what they think they deserve.

It takes work, planning, perseverance, and discipline in order to achieve a good standing.

Not getting a good education, marrying when you are not ready, having a bad attitude at work, and not growing up and facing reality on leads to turmoil.

Today, we have a society of rude and crude skeptics. Almost everybody criticizes harshly or degrades people.
You should see some of the responses I get. Well at least there are some kind and polite comments to balance out the bad ones.

However, all of it is a reflection of the people we have allowed the industrial society to make us in to.

This is not a good excuse. I have studied it intently and I believe with all my brain cells that most people are what they are because of the modern electronic culture.

The next generation is not going to care though. Today, children need some one to teach them about responsibility and surviving the storm.

Do this. Look in to your child’s eyes and tell him and/or her that you do not love them enough to spend time with them and teach them how to meet the challenges of life.

That is what they need. They need some one to show them how to manage emotions, manage social relationships, and plan for a future.

Just whom do you think is going to teach them if you don’t?

Here is the truth. Children are starting sexual exploration at around 12. At this same time, they start drinking alcohol and using drugs. Please keep your indignation.

Every time I take a substitute assignment at a public school, I see your children in action. Their conversations about sex are very detailed and they are very descriptive.

I have often chastised them for their conversation. They know I am in the room but they do not care. They honestly believe that they have the right to do what ever they want, including having very detailed conversations about sex.

My concern here is that that much knowledge has to involve some degree of practice.

In addition, if today’s children are this bad today, how will they be tomorrow?

Do we really have the right to give children the impression that nothing works and it is not worth trying?

Alternatively, do we have the right to give them a worst message, like telling them, directly or indirectly, that we only need to worry about our selves?

Just how much damage do we want to do to society? What kind of legacy do we want to leave?

Are we going to keep quiet and allow more people that do not know the basics of human functions to continue to be formed by a sex obsessed and money driven business culture.

Will we deprive children emotional interaction and make them not able to receive or give pleasure?

Maybe, we will continue the cycle of abuse through neglect and yelling.

How can any reasonable person think avoiding a child and only interacting with the child to scold and offend be good parenting?

What becomes of America if people are living lives that are too complicated by psychological complexities to pay attention to their civic responsibilities?

I believe that the years to come are going to be very dark years for the human experience.

Increasingly more lonely people are going to be made. Greed is going to limit opportunities.

People are going to become mechanical and not live emotionally pleasing lives.

The special interests that manipulate government are going to take God out of our society and create an insensitive government absent of respect for human life.

Everywhere you turn, you will see gray.

Is this really the legacy we want to leave?

My best friend in world used to brighten my day with her smile and beautiful eyes.

Seeing her used to lift my spirit. Out of all the people, I have known and know she is the only one I can say this about.

For the most part, I see immature children being disrespectful.

I also see many children in need of a caring look, a hug, and I love you.

Parents, work for a legacy that will preserve all that is good in life like, friendships, family, romance, happiness, joy, and personal satisfaction.

To my critics I respond by paraphrasing Christ.

The world will bring you tribulation. Be of Good Cheer. I have come and over come the world.
