Weakening America

It is sad to say it but congress is going to Mickey Mouse the immigration issue again. I have seen the American government get all vent out of shape on immigration before in my life.

Usually, the “politicos” come out all angry and indignant. Then they start to see the news stories of the supposed hardship these immigrants face. After a few months they get so scared of being called heartless and loosing their office that they find a way to reward illegal immigrants.

The American tax payer who will foot the bill for every thing that will be given to the “poor little immigrants” of course is not interested. Therefore, it is easy for special interest groups (Catholic Church) to manipulate the heartstrings of the liberals who think it is their business to tell every one how to live.

I was born in Mexico. My parents moved the family to this stinking El Paso, Texas city when I was four. My lawyer told me because the immigration officer did not challenge me when I entered in to this country I had the right to stay.

Even so, I have never had that much love for Mexico. I am not against it, but I do not see much there.

The point I am trying to make is that the average American does not know how much they are hated by Mexicans. I see Mexicans every day of my life and I hear them use very derogatory words against the people who they are taking advantage of in the USA.

I think a Mexican professional put it best. He told me that it was hard to understand how these people who cross from Mexico in to the USA have the gull to demand better services then the average American is getting from their government. This businessperson was talking about Mexicans wanting to have their babies born in American hospitals for free, food stamps, welfare, housing, and transportation.

I was personally surprised I never came to the same conclusion. See I had thought it; just never organized my philosophy that way.

He and I are talking about the dirty little secret politicians, religious leaders, and the news media never tell the American public. Mexicans hate Americans for what they have and they want to take it from them. (What ever it is).

On a daily basis I see people come in to these country with just visitors visa to work. Many people in this miserable city hire people, as maids that they know don’t have work permits. Mothers who live in Mexico bring their children a cross the border to American public schools.

Back when I was working as a so called social worker, I noticed that all a person without papers had to do was say they were self-employed, fill out a simple paper that showed how much they spend and who much they receive and they could qualify for food stamps and welfare.

In El Paso, like other places many, people who employ illegals pay them is cash so there is no accounting evidence. Technically there is no income reported. Since they have no income they go apply for social services. They get $250 a week in cash from their employer. It is unreported income so they can go apply for government money.

Now some may think that I am picking on the poorest of the poor. In my mind a person getting $250 a week in cash, $350 in food stamps a month, and $115 per child a month for welfare is not the poorest of the poor.

See the issue of illegal immigration in to the US from Mexico is simple. If you do not take care of what you have you are going to loose it.

Imagine everything you would like to do but cant because you cannot afford it. How much of what you pay for taxes is involved in not being able to afford what you would like to do in life?

This morning I was thinking of a very simple principle. If you do not enforce one law, how can you enforce any law? Immigration laws are never really enforced. Today, border patrol, customs, and INS are all worked about illegal immigration. However, before all this new attention to the issue illegal immigration was seen but not talked about.

Politicians are afraid of being made to look bad if they support harsh immigration control measures. The news media for ages has been labeling this issue as a humanitarian issues. Illegal immigrants cannot afford to live in Mexico so they come to the US. Close to 50% of Americans would like not to be bothered with any issue much less immigration. Many of the people who cross in to the US from Mexico believe they have a right to take from Americans.

The world is falling apart. The US is needed to keep chaos from raining high, but politicians rather hide from the problem and American voters don’t want to be bothered with the responsibility of being a good citizen.

How much money are taxpayers willing to throw at the problem? If something really bad happens and the US does not have the resources to defend herself, who will be to blame?

When I heard Iran had made nuclear materials, I said to myself “alright this is going to be a serious threat to America, this country will need soldiers to fight, even though I’ll probably die I guess I have to go sign up.

See many of us know what is looming over the mountain. It is ugly. It is real. It won’t go away with wishful thinking.

The only way to survive is to have respect what you have, take care of it, and make it work for you.

I wont go so far as to say if you cannot enforce one law, you cant enforce any.  After all there are a lot of old laws that are unenforceable, or just plain stupid (legislators are just too lazy to clean the books).

But I will say if you are not going to enforce a law, then get rid of it.  No laws are better than unenforced ones.
