Not All Ameicans Are Bad

This is more a message of heart then a need to inform or win a debate.

The news stories about American soldiers deliberately killing Iraqi citizens with out just cause have troubled my soul.

Let me say that these are the acts of specific individuals committing specific acts.

I have had the opportunity to interact with American soldiers and I do not find the majority as vile savages.

My concern with military people is many take on the personality of I should be revered because I am soldier. This sometimes leads to the “ I am always right” and “ I should get what I want” syndrome.

Nevertheless, most American soldiers are good people doing their job the way they were trained in order to feed their families.

It is sad that there is good and bad everywhere. The invasion of Iraq was an act needed to stop some one, who had already proven he was dangerous, from developing weapons of mass destruction and selling them to AL-Qaedea with possibility of helping the Iraqi people build something good in their land; freedom.

This was to be freedom from tyranny, freedom from subjugation, and freedom from violence.

Some of you in Iraq who have heard of the American soldiers crimes in the recent news stories may be saying, “If this is freedom then we don’t want anything from you stinky Americans.”

Murder, rape, homicide, and any other vile crime is an offensive to those who live in the USA also.

Even though it will not bring your family members back, I do offer my condolences.

None of us that support the invasion of Iraq by American military forces envisioned that any person serving in the American military would behave in such a savage way.

In addition, I know that not all the facts are out and I always reserve my comments until I am sure all the facts are out. Therefore, I hope no one thinks I am condemning the accuse soldiers with out having all the facts.

It is not my desire to condemn anyone. I also know that some that read my comments here on this blog may say that I am not that kind to Iraqis either.

Yes, your culture confuses me. I cannot understand how given a chance to build something good many Iraqis have opted for violence and chaos.
To be free and live in a world of tyranny is to know how easily freedom can be lost.

I do wish the best to the people of Iraq. I hope there is a new horizon in your future.

This new era can have freedom from persecution, freedom from tyranny, freedom from violence, and if we have offended you so much, even freedom from people who live in the USA.

I hope your pain is comforted quickly, you do not condemn all Americans by acts of a few, and that together we can build, instead of destroy.
