Are we ready for an all out war with militant muslins?

I know president Bush has declared war on terrorism.

However, have we reached the point where we are demanding that the american government search and destroy terrorist where ever they may be in the world.

This question is the result of knowing that this war on terrorism is not going to be won on a battlefeild. In addition, counter-terrorism will only do so much.

I think if the American government is serous about the war on terrrorism it is going to have to take action to destroy training camps, kill their recruits, and kill their leaders.

Well of course, the problem is finding said sites, locations and leaders.

Bush won't do that, though. Being browbeaten over our "arrogance" for the last few years has apparently left him limp and unable to stand up to terrorist states. Now instead of helping Israel crush Hezbollah, we intercede and try to make all parties happy. Consider that... making Hezbollah happy... heh.

No, I'm beginning to think that perhaps the Dems have been right, and the 'war on terror' was just an excuse to invade Iraq, because precious little has been done beyond that. He seems to just be coasting to the end of his administration now, when he should be taking advantage of his lame duck status and pounding the hell out of the people the next Democrat president will be shaking hands with and pretending they are diplomats.

I have to disagree about the battlefield part. There's no winning the hearts and minds of the people in the middle east, not a chance. They hated us when we were going out of our way to legitimize their monsters under Clinton, and they hate us now.

I don't believe, however, it takes boots on the ground to get the job done, just a willingness to shrug off the outrage of the world when we blow them up from a hundred miles off shore.
