Safe Haven, Honest leadership, Vision
The mission was to unseat a very dangerous man in a new terrorist environment. I do not believe that Sadam Huesien (and no I do not want to spell his name right) would invest in WMD for no purpose.
I also do not believe that he would invest in a weapon and give it or them up with out being made to.
Every person who questions whether Mr. Sadam had WMD needs to read the United Nations 1996 report.
In my opinion, it is disingenuous to claim that today we are living in dangerous times. As I see it the human race has always been under a cloud of danger.
However, September 11, 2001 did change things. Again I say it would have been immoral for the president to not of done everything possible to eliminate any danger Iraq may of posed to the USA.
However, since the beginning I noticed comments of humanitarian motives. Some media people and American citizens were saying that we were going to Iraq to liberate the Iraqi people.
It appeared for a while, that America had some moral imperative to make the lives of the Iraqi people better.
Now we are three years and a half down the road after the democrats and American news media have done everything possible to make Mr. George Bush look like a failure with the help of spineless republicans.
With this entire drama going on the big moral question is “being that Mr. Bush has failed, shouldn’t we pull out the American soldiers of Iraq?”
This question brings about the next question which is what does the American government owe the people of Iraq being that the American government is responsible for the violent conditions in Iraq.
I believe that people in every region are morally responsible for their form of government and the acts of the people in that government.
For many years, the people of Iraq allowed Sadam and his gang to rule with impunity. In my world if all you have are your hands, feet, back, and brain to fight with then you pick up what ever branch and stone you may find and get to fighting.
Kurds, Shiite, and Sunni cannot excuse themselves from their responsibility to control their government.
The military plan was great. The political plan was great. In addition, the humanitarian plan was also great.
What has not been great is the vile and savage attitude of people who hate president Bush just for the sake of hating him.
Every critic has fueled the insurgency.
Leaving Iraq will not make the terrorist retreat. People have said being in Iraq and Afghanistan have made the terrorist mad and if we were not there, they would not be attacking us.
Before September 11 2001, America was not in either of those two countries.
Therefore, now what? The demos and American news media have made America look like a 10-pound weakling just so they can say they are right.
The unfortunate price is that many innocent Iraqis who do not believe in violence and just want a regular old life are dying.
Hence, even though the mission did not involve saving the Iraqis in the beginning I say America now has a moral imperative to stand up for those people who are not politicians, insurgents, Al Qaeda, or any other blood thirsty savage.
There are innocent people in Iraq. We have placed them in a volatile and violent environment. Therefore, we are responsible for them.
This does not mean that we send a whole bunch of soldiers to Iraq or take on the new Iraqi government.
I have said that I will not criticize President Bush because I know that is what the news media wants.
However, I am very disappointed with the Presidents attitude since the congressional elections.
Again Mr. President many of us get the real picture. I thought you were beyond politics and fighting the same fight as the rest of us.
For America to have a chance against what is coming her leaders need to speak in clear and honest terms about how great the threat is to Americans.
For me the solution to the Iraqi crisis is for the Iraqis to take the initiative and become responsible for their own nation.
I also think we need to provide a safe heaven for all those Iraqis who do not contribute to the politics of terrorism.
In addition, I want to see the President with vision and a good grasps of the challenge stand up and lead this country again.
In closing, I have already shed tears for the future victims of terrorism on American soil.
