We are fooling our selves.
We are foolish if we think that we can expect justice from the powers at be. I am sure that there is no reason for people in authority to work with a common sense understanding. In addition, I am sure fair play and respect is out the window.
Those of us expecting teachers, doctors, police, judges, politicians, and any other authority figure to listen to us are fooling our selves.
It is unfortunate but I know that we have entered the “us against them” era. They think one way and we think another way. We believe we should have our rights respected. They think no one is watching and they can do whatever they want.
In earlier article I wrote about people needing digital camcorders to record bad behavior from public servants.
I was not kidding. A pack of friends and digital cameras may be the only thing between us and police brutality.
Now I do not make these statements to insight hatred or violence against any one.
I believe it is better to be informed and take the necessary actions to protect our selves. However, as long as we are naïve and reluctant to see things for what they are we will never take the necessary steps to protect our selves.
If a person tries to brake in to my home while I am here, I know that I am the one that is going to have to deal with it. I have no confidence in the city of El Paso police department.
I also know I will need video evidence to justify me shooting the intruder.
It is sad to think in these terms. However, this our world and it will only get worse.
