What becomes of a country that every day looses its men of distinction?
I am sitting here watching the official ceremony of president Ford’s funeral at Washington D.C.
At a time Jesus Christ once was asked something, where he responded “…let the dead bury the dead”.
When the body dies the soul leaves and is received in heaven or the other place. At the second, Mr. Ford’s body stopped functioning he appeared where he is going to spend eternity. Let us hope that God in heaven embraced him.
Funerals and ceremonies are human creation made to make humans feel good. When a person is a Christian he or she knows were he or she will spend eternity.
I find it interesting that this ceremony is on when I sit to write this Blog entry. Several days ago, I was thinking about the position of distinction that we are to hold in the world.
Therefore one thing we can get from all the events centered around a passing of a love one is to reflect on how we live and if we need to evaluate our relationship with God.
It is easy to follow “fad and fashion” and be as low class and vulgar as the next guy. However, I do believe we have been made for distinction.
On the same day as America buries one of its leaders at the other end of the world a man is hanged for being a blood thirsty tyrant.
Given the choice isn’t it better to stand up for what is good. Therefore, so what if we do not win the American Idol or the Nobel peace price?
Doesn’t working and taking care of your self have a price? Have we really become a society were all that matters is indulgence and spiteful vindictiveness?
Moreover, what becomes of a country that every day looses it distinguished gentlemen of honor?
I feel great sadness for the US of A. This was once a country of decent people who would sacrifice to help each other out.
Now, materialism and decadence rule this society. The sad part is that we are only harming our selves.
