Demos want citizens addicted to government

Of everything, I heard and read today what got my attention most is the stories of Martin Luther King, the civil rights leader in the 1960’s.

From her beginning, America has gone through many different challenging crises. Today, it seems that many see America in her biggest crisis.

The answer to some is just run and hide and everything will be okay. I wonder if Mr. King would offer us that kind of advice. From what I have seen of his life he did not run and hide.

In addition, he knew how to be a statesman with dignity and respect. All I see today are vulgar lying critics. In fact, I can say I am very sad over how much luster America has lost.

See, you can argue all you want, but people of science, law, and religion built this country and they had a specific vision in mind.

I do not believe the founding fathers had murder of the unborn and men marrying men and women marrying women on their minds at the constitutional convention.

In addition, I can say that gay marriage means nothing to me. I am not gay. Therefore, it is not my issue.

Embryonic stem research, teenage pregnancy, drug/alcohol addiction, crime, education, politics, security of the nation, immigration, corporate greed, and socialism are my concerns. I had others but I just cannot think of them right now.

However, of the ones I listed I do not see how they can be dealt with if we teach people to stop relying on them selves and look at government for substances.

Allow me to speak clearly. I have not made anyone poor, neither have I made any one pregnant nor invalid.

Therefore, how can this democratic congress tell me I have to pay taxes to provide other people a better life than I can provide for myself? There has to be something wrong in that.

Is this what all the people who have fought, struggled, and maybe even lost their lives for having been fighting for?

I say that the person is better of earning his or her own way in life. When you are on government assistance, you are limited by what they give you. We all know they do not give that much. I would say that they keep you poor because what they give is not enough to make good improvements in your life.

Moreover, Rush Limbaugh- a person many people do not like, said on his program that less than 1% of people working work in minimum wage jobs. You mean to tell me congress is upset because less than one percent of the population cannot do better than minimum wage.

How about this health care business? I find it interesting that people cannot afford health insurance but they can afford cell phones, Internet, and digital cable.

Now, I will get to the crux of my argument. I think it is sad that when news people talk about Martin Luther King they conveniently forget to mention that he was a Christian minister.

Mr. King was not a civil rights leader. In my opinion, he was a Christian minister working in the civil rights movement. Listen to his speeches and you will hear him invoke the name of Jesus Christ.

The problem is that people in the liberal news media do not like God. In addition, if you ask God what shall I do be responsible for my self or live of the government, He is going to tell you get to work.

Personal responsibility, however, does not sit well with the liberals. According to them, because I am an immigrant I am in capable of doing it for myself. What a foolish presumption on their part.

Read my lips you stupid liberals. Every day I go out and earn my keep. Why cant every one else do the same? The sad part is that how I earn my living does not require a GED, or any of the two bachelors in psychology I have earned in life. Furthermore, I live in a city of more than 80 percent Hispanics. Therefore, I do not even have to know English.

I ask you. If I, a person with very little options-living in a world with little regard for training and education-can find a way to earn a living, why can’t other people.

Of course, the bigger question is how is America going to regain her majesty if her citizens are not inspired to great accomplishments by their own dreams.

I will say it again. The best thing government can do for me is get out of my way.

That just doesn't apply to immigrants.  You see people here that blame Bush and the federal government because they are unemployed or aren't smart enough to manage their own finances.

It isn't PC to paint a Christian, especially a minister, in a positive light, so they simply gloss over that aspect.
