Democratic social policy and dependency

In the 1990’2, mental health professionals were commenting that the fastest growing disease was depression. This increase was bigger than diabetes and heart disease.

Furthermore, in a report I had to write to get credit for a college course the research mentioned that recently all mental health categories had increases in the people suffering from those illnesses.

Now how can people of an affluent society be having so much trouble with their mental health?

Moreover, what is the relationship between politician’s actions and human mental health? Here I am not asking about funding or not funding mental health facilities.

Now, if you ask most people who is to blame for their personal failures, most of them will name some one other than them selves. You may even hear, “it was my parents fault” or “it is the rich hoarding all the wealth”.

I am not rich and I have no animosity towards the rich. What they have is their private property and who is anyone to try to take it from them.

Trust me everyone has something some one else wants. Therefore, do not be so quick to rob the rich to feed the so-called poor.

After all, we should feed our selves. Every morning when I wanted a job in what I studied, I would sign in to the net and search the job web sites. At these sites, I would see everything from wood framers (no English or education required) to office and service jobs.

Today, there a lot of basic entry level jobs vacant. Therefore, how can people say there are not any jobs?

Now, I know that employers have lost the trust of the working public and I know why. Employers think they have purchased a slave when they give some one a job. They want you to work around the clock at their whim and/or discretion with little resources and support.

Therefore, even though there are jobs there are real reasons why people do not want to work for an abusive corporate America. However, this does not mean we get to stay home, in bed, and waiting for a government hand out.

Unfortunately, there are people whose big life game plan is nothing but a government hand out.

Today, my first five-dollar trip was two women who live in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and work in El Paso, Texas, USA. One of these women told her friend that her mother told her to move to El Paso because over here they help people with housing, groceries, and healthcare.

Now, why were they not talking about going to college or working hard to save enough for a business? Therefore, you have a person living in Mexico and working in the USA looking forward to the day she can live of the American government.

It cannot be hard to imagine that if you promise people you will take care of them then they will stop working for themselves.

In addition, why are people poor? Is it a lack of quality opportunities? Is it a lack of resources or lack of personal strength that restricts a person from meeting the demands of life? Furthermore, who is to blame?

It is correct that hours required to afford life may be substantial. It can also be true that people do not have time to raise their kids properly.

Lack of appropriate emotional interaction between parent and child creates a troubled and needy child.

I contend that most of people’s challenges in life come from not being able to find an appropriate emotional balance. We are either to sad or to mad, if we are not suffering from more extreme emotions.

These types of people are unable to plan for life or have a forward perspective because our mental energy is occupied with our immediate dilemma.

In addition, I believe hunger pains motivate a person to get to work. Regardless of our mental state, we have to get busy and work to eat.

When government makes promises to people who are not fit to deal with life because of their emotional troubles they encourage them to become dependent on government and stop meeting their personal responsibilities like parenting their children, not taking drugs, or committing other crimes.
