I believe the surge can work
Today, I will write a short comment on Kerry’s comment on how only the President and his staff think the “surge” can work.
Kerry was quoted as saying, "The only people who believe there is a workable military solution for the conflict in Iraq is the Bush administration," ….
This quote was taken from the article House schedules vote on Iraq resolution written by DAVID ESPO and appeared on the yahoo news web site.
I could not disagree with Mr. Kerry more. I believe that the surge can work and I believe that Iraq can become a country of good laws and not religious fanatics.
What I see as necessary is for the Iraqi government to seal their borders, out law weapons and explosive devices, and get to searching for and destroying insurgents and terrorist.
I hope we have not lost our perspective, which was to place the Iraqi troops in the front lines of fighting the terrorist in Iraq. It is starting to look like the American soldiers are going to be the ones in the front lines.
It helps no one if the Iraqis do not start taking care of their own country.
