Americans returning to their Victorian indentity
Published on July 9, 2007 By jesseledesma In Politics
These are my thoughts as to why the democrats are fighting the president and the republicans in congress so hard. I am writing this article on Monday July 9, 2007. There is currently a great animosity between the president of the USA and the democrats in congress.

The democrats state that they are against the war in Iraq and the president’s tarnishing of America’s power with his civil rights violation policies such as domestic spying and holding enemy combatants without access to legal representation.

First, the war in Iraq was necessary because Sadam Hussein had proved himself a very dangerous enemy. Mr. Hussein invaded Kuwait without provocation. He developed and used chemical and biological weapons. He refused to follow the directives of the United Nations for 12 years.

Second, president Bush does not have a “domestic spying program”. International calls are monitored in order to protect Americans by listening to people in other countries who may be terrorist or terrorist supporters. In addition, any foreign “prisoner of war” program does not protect people who are not part of a countries official army.

Therefore, why is there so much rhetoric about the president and his so called anti American actions. I think it has to do with the fact that Americans are returning to their conservative and Victorian identity.

Democrats cannot survive in an environment where people are working for them selves and are living lives with principals, morals, and values. The base of the democrat party is composed of the poor, immigrant/race, homosexual, and drug culture.

When Americans start to focus on their lives and start to achieve by their own effort democrats will loose. People who are working hard to provide for themselves do not want to be taxed to the hill in order for a person who is not working as hard as them can have a better life.

In addition, when people live lives of morality and values they do not want to see all their efforts undone by people who do not respect them selves or their neighbors.

Another contributing factor is the speed of information in the modern world. Before in order to have contact with your representative you have to write and send a letter that might take a week to get to the representatives office. Now, all you have to do is pick up your cell phone and call their offices.

Therefore, even though the democrats say that they are upset with the president’s actions, the reason they howl so much is because they know they are on the verge of a great change in the American psyche that will emphasize personal responsibility and civic responsibility.

These democrats will no longer be able to hit the drum of the “politics of poverty”. They also will not be able to win when their voting majority is not enough to compete with the large conservative and principled American population.

Moreover, if you are one of this hard working Americans there is no reason to be made to feel guilty because you want the so called underprivileged and poor to work to provide for themselves. I keep saying, “If I have to work, then every one else has to work also”.

Furthermore, why should I allow the democrats to make promises to people with the money that is my wallet? I think that if you look at all the social ills in American society, you will find the contributing factors will be living with out goals, dreams, ambition, and perseverance.

It's ironic, the President DID have a domestic spying operation... and Congress went along with it... That program was called Echelon and never bothered with the little pesky detail of "international communications". Should we count how many Democrats who are "outraged" now, backed Clinton 100%?

big difference...echelon complied with the FISA court.

CIA director George Tenet testified to this before Congress on 4/12/00:

I’m here today to discuss specific issues about and allegations regarding Signals Intelligence activities and the so-called Echelon Program of the National Security Agency…

There is a rigorous regime of checks and balances which we, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency and the FBI scrupulously adhere to whenever conversations of U.S. persons are involved, whether directly or indirectly. We do not collect against U.S. persons unless they are agents of a foreign power as that term is defined in the law. We do not target their conversations for collection in the United States unless a FISA warrant has been obtained from the FISA court by the Justice Department.

that charge is old bs from the right.

just like jesse's article here,,,pure nonsense

FISA - what does the eff stand for? So how can a domestic policy be covered by a court with no jurisdiction?

Wow, you think America is returning to a "Victorian" society.

Yes, let's segregate by race and consider those that are less-than-white inferior. Let's segregate by sex, and get women completely out of the public eye - hell, let's even take their right to vote away. Let's focus entirely on making a white, male, Christian-led society.

You know what, Jesse? You can take your "Victorian morality" somewhere else. America doesn't want it.

“First, the war in Iraq was necessary because Saddam Hussein had proved himself a very dangerous enemy.”

He was NOT a danger to the United States. In 2002 the Pentagon reviewed his military capability and concluded he could only conduct military operations in the Central part of Iraq. Even if Saddam had ALL the WMD Bush and Cheney claimed, he had no history of employing it outside Iraq and no capability. In addition, Bush and Cheney HYPED the WMD far beyond the Intelligence. In fact the Intelligence said he had NO Nuclear weapons or current program to develop such weapons. Never the less Bush spread the LIE about trying to purchase Uranium in Africa and both Bush and Cheney tried to scare Americans with the “Mushroom Cloud” if we did not act. That was a FLAT LIE because Saddam had no way to produce or deliver a nuclear weapon on anyone much less 5,000 away!

why the democrats are fighting the president and the republicans in congress so hard.

When you see a bunch of dogs barking at a bunch of cats, do you really need to look any further for an explanation than one is a bunch of dogs and the other is a bunch of cats?

When the R's were screwing it to the D's was that because they knew America had rejected Victorian values and they were desperately trying to turn back the clock? Nope. Cats just like to claw at dogs.

What a load of cliche driven nonsense.

If the FISA court authorized such a general thing, what is the point of it? Echelon spied on far more Americans than Bush's program ever did.
