I found a flaw I hope gets fixed.
Well I heard the radio interview between Fred Thompson and Laura Igraham. I was not impressed. However let me tell you that yesterday on the news that PBS runs I heard Thompson say that he loves America and believes she needs good leadership, implying that he would be this good leadership.
That was a good part. However, today in the interview with Ms. Ingraham I heard him respond if we keep going the same way we are going we are not going to win the war on terror and that we need other countries. In addition, he added that it matters what other countries think of us.
This statements I paraphrased got my attention because they sounded like anti-Bush rhetoric. Now, Mr. Thompson may be the best chance we have of retaking the White House and some republicans may be able to ride his coattails in to congress.
However, we are not in a bad place in the international Public Relations game. Germany, and France now have pro-American leadership. Britian's new leadership is also pro-American. North Korea has come around and stopping its nuclear program. Australia, Japan, Italy, and the easten Europeen countries are still backing the US.
If Bush had made so many mistakes, would so many countries be trying to improve relations with the US.
I hope Mr. Thompson does not think that we are all a bucnh of hicks that cannot see a slick politician coming down the street when we see one.
In addition, Bush has served this country very well. For me the road to the White House is not through Bush's grave. Any one who thinks America is in an economic crissis, Bush has missmanaged the war on terror, and goes about to spewing what looks and sounds like demo rhetoric to me does not a good graspe of the facts and I cannot support.
I know it is early. Moreover, I am willing to give Mr. Thompson the time to sharpen his message. However, if he ever comes out on an anti-Bush platform, that will tbe the end for me.
The issues America is facing presently are to serious to be playig politices with them. To me, anyone playing politics really does not get it.
