American goverment should reflect the values of work and personal responsibility.

Today I have a lot on my mind. I think the American voter is about to make the worse mistake they have ever made by who they chose as the next president of the United States of America.

The next voting season not only will elect a president, but also some congressional representatives. My dilemma is that I do not value the philosophies of the Democratic Party. However, many republicans have started behaving as liberals. Therefore, what do you when you don’t support democrat party initiatives and you cannot trust republicans?

The new media darling in the republican corner is Huckabee. Many are criticizing him for being a bleeding heart Christian. As a conservative Christian I, myself, agree with this assessment.

God does not want people relying on government for their basic needs. He has given everyone everything they need to sustain life. In reality, all we need is food, shelter, clothing, and love.

To many people are dissatisfied with their life because they are not living the “Corporate American Dream”, which is to get a college degree and a good paying job. Many do make money. The problem is money management. They max-out their credit cards, buy homes they cannot afford, and they go into debt in other ways.

On the Laura Ingraham show Laura was discussing Huckabee. One of her points was that Huckabee is connecting with the regular person who has to work two jobs to make it in life. I see this as the same old pander to the “politics of poverty”.

Before you bring the sob story of someone who has to work two jobs in order to make it, let me see his or her personal budget and their “working life philosophy”. I am willing to bet there is a lot of mismanagement and waste in their lives.

I see the American government as a corporation and I am an investor. It is in my best interest that America succeeds. Every tax time I make a financial investment in this country. In addition, I contribute by not being a burden on society.

I do not run a non-profit. However, I am not a criminal or a person on social assistance. For me work is healthy and it gives me a lot of control.

I cannot see how America can continue to be great with a lot of people being brain washed by political candidates to be weak and dependent on government. It is more compasionate to require a person to work then to make them dependent on government. Why do you think we have not solved teen-age pregnancy problem? I suggest because there is more incentive to get pregnant young and get on government assistance then to work to provide for your self. Give any one the opportunity not to work and they will take it.

Therefore, the next voting cycle Americans have to make decisions about what is best for the country. From were I am standing it appears Americans are going to be led to a bad decision with the emotional black of the media focusing on the politics of poverty.

I know there are liberals with their liberal ways who will always be liberals. However, the majority of Americans have a good work ethic and are personally responsible. American government should reflect these values.

I'd vote for Obama over Huckabee.

I'm gonna repeat myself here, because it's worth repeating, so here goes:

Given the relatively small pool of voters that participated in the caucuses in Iowa, I am reading absolutely nothing into anyone's win or loss there.

Percentage points -- now matter how wide the gap between the candidates in that measure -- mean nothing when you are talking about only a few hundred (less than 1,000) people are doing the deciding.  If this had been 10's of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of people with these margins, I'd say there was more for some candidates to be concerned about.

As is, except for the candidates that pulled less than 1% or right at 1% of the vote, I'd say we haven't figured out anything yet and it's far too early to celebrate over one person's win or another's loss.

Lets see some results from voters in other parts of the country, where more voters are participating.  Then we might get some indication and clue as to what the electorate wants this time.
