Thoughts on elections, government, and life.

What is life? For some years I have been giving my opinions on life. Just recently I wrote that life is being able to be happy with what you have and being able to enjoy yourself.

In the modern world, the message is given that careers and financial stability are important for an enjoyable life.

If money was all it took, then Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse would be among the happiest people on the planet. However, we see by their personal dramas being played out on the news media everyday that money is not everything.

I know that our Creator made us with certain functions. Modern mental health experts called them needs, wants, and desires. However, God intended these "energy systems" to be restrained and managed. Absolute liberty shackles people to the pains of gluttony.

Therefore, when trying to define life one must understand that there are limits. The reason I bring it up here is because I plan to speak on the contributing factors of social ills.

First, I want to ask "what makes a person poor?" Is it just not having a certain amount of cash? Is there something in the air or water such as a virus or bacteria that makes people poor. Could it be that poverty comes from not being aware of what a person has in life. (The whole glass-half-empty half-full thing).

My last revelation from God was that humanity has everything it needs in the land, water, and sun to meet their needs. Therefore, you do not need to graduate from medical school to have your needs met.

By comparison to the wealth of Mr. Bill Gates I am poor. However, I make enough to pay may way in life, save, and invest.

Now, can I use my self as an example of a "happy person". The answer is no. Of course the next the question is why in a conversation about defining life would I focus on money. In the modern world people are told that "big money" buys a good life.

However, I can testify that life is about your relationship with God, family, friends, biological needs, and psychological needs. All have been provided for by God. Any person can grow vegetables, fruits, and tend animals, and you don’t even have to buy land. There is a lot of unused land all over the world.

Therefore, if people have been given the opportunity to work the land by God who is government to promise to take care of people’s needs and provide them with a life.

Now, what do I say about dreams? The dream of finding a good mate, raising children, and working the land for our biological needs is just as good a dream as wanting to be a software engineer, if not better.

Today, as I was going about my day, I was meditating about the relationship between the people and their government. Again I must state that approximately 85% of Americans are making.

Therefore, when Barak Hussien Obama and Hillary Clinton talk about those people who are poor they are talking about 15 percent of the population.

These people drop out of school, commit crimes, fight with their employers, feel like some one else should take care of them , make poor life decisions, and have unplanned pregnancies. Therefore, the contributing factors of social ills are making poor decisions and bad behaviors.

Is American government policy really going to be about the 15 percent who cannot get their lives in order? I say it should not be. Poverty is the result of inadequate ideas to meet the challenges of life.

Why should I pay for people who are doing everything wrong? Let me tell you who I am. My father was a jerk. He took pleasure in physically abusing my siblings and I. He gave us, his kids, nothing to defend ourselves against life. My mother only late in life got a GED and a Computer Accounting degree from a Tech-School.

There was no family inheritance or wealth. My brother, sisters, and myself had to go out in to the world and earn our way. My older brother works as a Computer Engineer on a military base. My older sister is a department director at a NM University. My younger sister is a Supervisor for a bank department. I worked and paid most of my college education. Today, I pay for everything I have in life.

No government program helped me with finding work, housing, food, transportation, and or direction in life. As a kid my mother worked at minimum wage jobs to provide us with food and shelter.

When I started working minimum wage was $3.35 an hour. I know my mother worked in jobs that paid her less, but she worked.

In fact, most of my dreams have not involved government assistance. Some of my college career was paid for by grants and loans. I am current on my last loan. At the rate I am running my business, I will have paid back the grants and then some to the federal government in income taxes if I live another 20 years.

Therefore, it can be done if some one wants to do it. I think for a lot of my life I was confused about needing the modern American Corporate dream. It would of been nice if I had gotten I good paying job after collage. Ah, but so what if I find myself in a world that does not respect education and experience.

I am still able to use my personal resources to make it in life. I am responsible with my money. I work to meet financial goals. In addition, I do not spend my money on vices.

Liberal motivated government action can only hinder my efforts to be personally responsible. Some one pays for the money that people dependent on social services use. That would be me.

Moreover, I am tired of paying for people who do not hustle as much as I do. This tax season I will hear people brag about how much they are going to get back from government. I am being punished for not littering the world with unwanted children.

The only difference between some of these braggers and me is that I file my taxes honestly and I am a single man with no dependents. Now, to the people who ask "why don’t you get married", I answer " I’d rather pay taxes". The modern woman is just crazy. There can only be one man in the relationship. It should be the one born with the anatomical prerequisite.

However, let me get to my central point. Most people are working and making it in life. Governmental promises harm society because these promises rob society of everyone’s ingenuity and creativity.

When you elect a person, do not vote for the one telling you he or she will hand you your dreams. Vote for the one that will get out of your way and let you reach for the stars.

God made us in his image. We dishonor Him when we find ourselves in poor circumstances. With the little money I make I keep myself in clean attire, good shoes, and a clean home.

Hence, human life is having a relationship with God, meeting His standards, having a loving mate, being a responsible parent, recognizing our familial obligation to our neighbor, working for dreams, and electing government officials who will respect the obligation, responsibility, and privilege of life.
