Okay. Let me see if I can put two rational thoughts together. First, let me say that I am very troubled about writing this BLOG entry. However, I do believe I have a moral obligation to give this message.
I have already written that a Christian is a person who willingly follows Christ because of a personal encounter with Jesus, which led to the individuals eyes, heart, and mind being open to the only "truth" there is and accepting this truth.
Religious ceremonies do not make a Christian. Self-proclamations of Christian identity do not count either.
In addition, Jesus Christ is the one who died on the cross for us to have opportunity for "salvation". This is why He offers it and it is up to each of us accept it or reject it. He offers "salvation" by having a personal encounter with every person. This encounter can be through a conversation, ministers sermon, song, meditations with Him, or any other means by which a person can hear and recieve His message.
THE KEY IS FOR IT TO BE HEART FELT SINCERE CALLING ON CHRIST TO BE ONES LORD AND SAVIOR.
The Bible says that "Believers" are known by the fruits of the spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfullness, gentleness, and self-control.
By this definition of a Christian I can with confidence state that Barak Hussien Obama's minister Jeremia Wright is not a "Chistian". Look at how Christ was treated and how he responded.
I see no Christ in Jeremia Wright. I see no Christ in Mr. Obama. My studies in human psychology tell me that a person pursues an activity for 20 years because he enjoys it.
Mr. Jeremia Wright was not a secret person. His idealogy and perceptions of life have been known for decades. No one can make statements such as ...God damm America..." with out not thinking about it for a long time.
Today, Mr. Obama trying to explain that he was not aware of Mr. Wright's harsh views sounds politically motivated. How do you explain being exposed to an idealogy for 20 years and only repudiating it when it comes to light as you are trying to get elected president of the United States of America.
Mr. Obama words matter. Actions, also matter. I keep saying if you want to get to know a person measure their actions against their rhetoric. The more inconsistencies between behavior and rhetoric, the more insincere a person is in life. Twenty years of participation in a church were the pastor spews viel racism is a great contradiction from the rhetoric of Mr. Obama.
Moreover, I did not want to speak on this issue. Just having heard Mr. Wright's comments made me feel sick.
Yes, we as a species are going to hell in a hand basket. However, I come here-to this BLOG- to build. People such as Mr. Wright destroy with their negative views.
For the record, I have been discriminated against. When I was a security guard at a hospital the hospital security manager only promoted guards to supervisors who were white, blonde, had military experience like him, were male, and lived in his nieghborhood. Let me tell you that for a time a hated "white folk".
However, my nature always takes over and I long ago started building my life and stopped with foolishness.
To Mr. Obama I say people are not as stupid as you think. You lied about sending one of your economic advisors to Canada. One of your old business partners is under indictment. It appears you may have recieved "favors" from this person. You once worked for what people describe as a "slum-lord". Now, people are hearing that a pastor at a church you have been a member for over 20 years hates whites and America.
What surpises me is the 6,000 other members of this church. Christians serve Christ not hatred or racism. Church for a Christian is sacred because it is were we go to enjoy our Lord and recieve his "good-medicine". It may be bitter. But if Christ is giving it to us, it is the best medicine for us.
See, for Christains it may be pastor speaking, but we now the message of the sermon is a love letter from the heart of God. I know my lord does not tell pastors who truely serve Him to use their sermons to promote hate.
God we do not lie to. Lie to humans. God, however, knows what is in the heart of everyone.
