Here I am in stupid El Paso, Texas, working.
Published on May 10, 2008 By jesseledesma In Politics

It is important that we do not get carried away by the fever of the mob.  When George W. Bush ran for the first time there was a fever of excitement because of the novelty.  Getting carried away by the mob may mean a person does not think and make good choices.

However, Mr. Bush had actual substance to his policies.  Mr. Bush and I are in sync about the direction of the country.  The president is right about retirement investment being a personal matter, not a government responsibility.  No-child-left behind finally started looking at performance of schools.  The unions and teachers have dominated a dysfunctional public school system they are not willing to look at and find constructive solutions.  Mr. Bush has never given lip service to "politics of poverty".  I am impressed that when the auto and airline industries came to the White House looking for government hand outs, Mr. Bush sent them packing.

Mr Obama, who looks like he may win the "demo" nomination, "dances fancy with rhetorical wolves".  However, America will not succeed because of fancy speech and over taxing the people who do work in America.

This fever of Obama being new and speaking to people's frustration with a government that takes them for granted is dangerous to America.  president Carter and his associates sent America into financial ruin with their social policies.  Punishing the 85 percent who work for the sake the 15 percent who do not work will stop economic growth.  Tell me what my incentive to invest and grow wealth is if the government is going to take a major portion of my earnings.

Again, investors open stores, make jobs, pay taxes, and generate future business for America.  Does this really need explaining?  When has a homeless person opened a store and hired people?  It is private citizens with money to invest who fuel the economy.  In addition, to me the best social program is a job.  Therefore get to work dam it.

I have already told you my person story.  I work and average of ten hours a day every day of the year.  I pay my apartment rent, my groceries, my bills, and my entertainment.  On top of that I have major depression and "chronic fatigue".  Therefore, I am not a person who you can tell that you are limited by opportunities and bad health.  I live in a city were family and friends give each other the goods jobs and I have to earn my keep while working with medical hardship.

However, I would rather be in charge of my own destiny then be limited by government hand outs.  Social programs give just enough to keep you poor.  The people who work in government program are more concerned about their paychecks then actually helping a person get a GED, college degree, and/or job.

Now, people may feel they need these programs.  However, this is mostly due to government conditioning people to expect hand outs.  Here, in stupid El Paso, Texas, the rhetoric is all about "government has to".  From birth people are brainwashed to expect the government to take care of them.

This is not productive.  America cannot be a successful country, if the law of the land is "slackerism"and dependency on government.  Productive citizens generate more tax revenue.  Over tax people for their success and you take away the incentive to succeed.  What is to become of America?  Will this be a nation of unmotivated people?  Furthermore, don't we already have enough slackers.

See there is the problem with getting carried away with the fever for the novelty of Obama being the first black president of the United States.  By getting caught in the whirlwind and not thinking about Mr. Obama's policies you run the risk of electing some one who will ruin America economically.

What does Mr. Obama think?  Does he think that he will raise taxes and people will keep producing?  That is not how the real world works.  Many America corporations have moved their offices to Europe because of the incentive to save money.  I cannot fault them.  If the American government cannot respect the hard working productive citizens of the country why should these citizens respect the American government.

This is not a Socialist nor a Communist country, even though the communist government of the city of stupid El Paso, Texas controls the prices of self-employed taxi drivers working in private industry.  What has become of the "free market"?  What has become of the American worker?

Look all you people who cannot live with in your means.  I did not cause your problems.  Why should I have to pay your bills.  May 2008 has been a sickly perverse month for me.  I paid my last accounts, which translates in to a $500 a month savings and at the same time the bottom falls out of the Taxi industry. However, since 2003 I have being paying all those credit cards and now I am debt free.  No government hand out did that.

Obama is way wrong for the country.  He is an "anti-American radical".  His social policies divide people.  His attitudes about how to deal with Americas enemies are dangerous.  His ideas about taxing hard working and productive citizens will kill economic growth by killing the incentive to succeed.

In addition, Obama keeps making the foolish statement that we can spend 4 billion a day in Iraq and we cannot spend the same on Americans in America.  No sir we cannot spend 4 billion a day in Iraq.  In order to maintain America free of terrorist attacks we are required to spend that money in order to help stabilize Iraq.  It is in America's best interest that the radicals do not get control of Iraq and Afghanistan.  This is not something that we can do.  It is something that we have to do in order to be safe.  Closing your eyes and clicking your heals is not going to get you back to Kansas.

See, I have not heard anything from Obama that will be a positive contribution to the continued success of America.  I hear from him is that everything is wrong in America and nothing works.  Well Mr. Obama, here I am in stupid El Paso, Texas generating approximately $29,000 in gross income by working.

THEREFORE, IF NOTHING WORKS IN AMERICA HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN ME.

I didn't read all of this at once, so I might have missed some stuff, but I can tell that you obviously think that Obama is a bad choice for America, however, you made several statements that I found very stupid. For example, you claim that we must spend 4 billion in Iraq to maintain the safety there, but this is a very bad idea. First, all of the candidates have admitted that we will be in Iraq for a very long time, McCain even said 100 years, but that means that we will lose even more troops and money then we're already losing, and just because they have Iraq doesn't mean that they'd then spring up and start attacking America. We can't win in Iraq, time doesn't wear down rebellions. If anything, it strengthens them, as people begin to question the strength of the attackers. And Obama isn't anti-american. He has not called for the destruction of America, and if he was truly against America, he wouldn't be a senator. And it sounds like you think we shouldn't help the poor, but this is another bad statement.  The majority of people who are poor were born that way, same with those who were born rich, and the system is inherently unfair against the poor, as they don't have the chance to attend school as readily, and one big injury and they're basically screwed because they don't have as effective medical care. Oh wait, you're right, poor people are all poor because they're lazy, or as you call it, they believe in "slackerism." Be it the mother who has to work two jobs to support several children, knowing that they won't be able to go to college or get a well-paying job, or the father and mother  who have a combined income of around $60,000 who work 7 days a week just to make ends meet, they're obviously less talented and more prone to slacking then the rich, who are obviously better, be it Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. However, you're right when you said that taxes should be lowered, or as you said, "Tell me what my incentive to invest and grow wealth is if the government is going to take a major portion of my earnings." because the CEO who makes 821 times more then the worker who's paid minimum wage should pay just as much as the average worker, because he obviously earned his money instead of just being born into wealth. Oh, and you speak of the evils of socialism and communism, asking "what has become of the free market?" Well, you can see the free market in action if you want, just go to China, Vietnam or India, where they have none of those archaic minimum wage laws and very little worker protection, that's what you get when you get a "free market." You end up with a pyramidal, stagnating mess where the rich get vastly richer while the poor get vastly poorer. Furthermore, why do you think that the government encourages "slackerism?" Clinton tightened the welfare laws, which helped encourage someone to either get to school to get continued government support, or get a job. And just because you didn't cause the problems of those who are impoverished doesn't mean that you shouldn't help them. A lot of the time those who are imporverished are born into poverty, and make just 1 or 2 mistakes and don't have the money to get out of it.

The problem with Obama is that he tries to pretend he's young and naieve and a perfect solution, but his track record has cracks in it.

From Wikipedia: "Obama also did some work on taxpayer-supported building rehabilitation loans for Rezmar Corp., half-owned by Tony Rezko, who later raised approximately $250,000 for Obama's various political campaigns. In October 2006, Rezko was indicted for political corruption charges and the case was brought to trial in March 2008. Obama has not been implicated in any wrongdoing."

Is this a bad thing? Yes.

What's dangerous for America is when illegal immigrants start acting like their opinion about OUR politics in OUR country where YOU are just an invader (your own rhetoric, toolhard) actually matters.

YOUR OPINION ISN'T WORTH TWO SQUIRTS OF OWL SHIT.

Go back to Mexico. I'm highly tolerant of illegal immigration - you're the exception.

Can someone call Homeland Security on his ass already?

You're being sarcastic right? If not, expect a swift rebuttal.

Mr. Jesus Lopez-Ledesma, whose article you've commented on, is an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT.

Who is he to tell us what we should do with our politics?

Of course, I guess he is, since he WORKS, VOTES, AND LIVES ILLEGALLY in the United States.

And after knowing that, you should go read his stance on illegal immigration and how he feels about his brothers and sisters coming over just like he did. He's allowed to come and break the law, but no-one else is.

What a self-righteous, hypocritical bastard.
on May 12, 2008
Yes, if he really is illegal, then he is VERY hypocritical. However, it's very stupid to say that illegals should "get out of our country" and to call them "invaders." Immigrants are what made America what it is, and people always come to America hoping for a great new life, but instead they get exploited by managers who threaten to deport them and people who say that they aren't "true americans." In fact, the inscription on the statue of liberty even reads "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door." This suggests that we welcome immigrants, as they represent a new idea and a new spark for America, however people choose to instead shun them because they were born in a different country. The immigration tests should be made alot easier, and in order to gain citizenship one should just be required to take a several week course on english and rudimentary American history. And they should be required to take a background check of course.

If you'll notice in my first response, I explained that I was very welcoming to all immigrants - illegal or otherwise - EXCEPT for Jesus Lopez-Ledesma.

The only reason I use phrases like that about jesseledesma himself is because HE USES THEM when talking about illegal immigrants - of which he, hypocritically, is one.

He's really one of the few that truly should get the HELL out of our country. Anyone who will come here, make a new life for oneself and then try to deny those who want the same thing is a bastard.

Straight up.

Come on guys! This is a real person you're talking to. The way you're treating him is disgusting. I don't support illegal immigration, and it's apparent you don't either, but that is absolutely no excuse to verbally harrass this man. He's illegal, OK, it's bad, but it's nowhere near as bad as what Obama would enact as President of the United States.

Again, I do not support illegal immigration and believe he should go back, get a green card, and then become a citizen, but what are we going to do? Rape our economy by uprooting a huge quantity of our workforce? It's not practical, and these people are just that; people.

Your hero, Ronald Reagan, supported amnesty because our hero, Ronald Reagan, was a human being and understood deporting millions of people is morally wrong.

To me, we have two options now as a country regarding illegal immigration: complete militarization of the border (that's a bad thing, as it diverts resources away from our WAR) or annexation of Mexico. I support the latter, as it will not only make all illegals citizens, but it rids Mexico of their corrupt government and gives America access to Mexico's vast coastlines (and resources. Can anyone say oil?). Plus, we'll have a tiny southern border to defend! Most Mexicans want to be here anyway, so instead of encouraging crime (illegal immigration), we will unite already extremely close neighbors and everyone in both countries will have an easier life.

I've gotten far off-topic due to this comment section becoming off-topic,
but I have this to say to Jesus Lopez-Ledesma: I completely 100% agree with you.

If El Paso is so stupid, Jesse, go home.

If Obama is elected, does that mean you will leave?

I immigrated to the United States almost twenty years ago.  I did it the legal way.  I became a citizen in 2001.  I recieved my Certificate of Citizenship in January of 2007.  I have friends that are immigrants, legal and illegal.  I love them dearly.

Go home, Jesse.

I love when people come all up in here and think from one thread they can know the 2+ years of history we have trying to deal with this numbstick.

I said it before, I'll say it again - real illegal immigrants, that see coming to this country as the opportunity it truly is, are cool.

jesseledesma can suck a goat's penis while getting his ass shipped back to Mexico in a box.

And Ronald Reagan was a brain-dead, washed-up actor assclown.
