opinion pages and articles on the beauty of life: friendship, family, love, romance, marriage, parenting, etc...

I had a lot on my mind today.  I think I am able to write about all of it.  However, let me first publicly ridicule the fool who actually wrote as a response to my last article that I had obviously not been to Marti Gras since people keep their clothe on at this event.  I ask what kind of fool makes such an irrational statement.

Okay it is a given that I have not been to Mardi Gras.  However, I have seen many of the live video that is taken at this event that clearly show skunk drunk people exposing them selves.

Well okay I will stop for now.  However, one of the standards I hold myself to is rational statements.  I could mouth of like a lunatic.  In addition, let me tell you that many times I want to do just that.  However, being that I want people to receive a positive benefit from my writings I try to keep to known facts, verifiable facts, and rational philosophy.  By rational philosophy I mean ideas that are in the realm of probability.

Lets look at the new controversial book from former press secretary Scott McClellan.  First, I would like to say that if you look at the excerpts being thrown around by the liberal news you can see that these excerpts do not say what the liberal news reporters are  saying these excepts say.

For example, one except being paraded around by liberal news people is that Mr. Bush manipulated events so the only option was to go to war with Iraq.  In order for Bush to do this he would of had to have the power to control Sadam's behavior.  At any time that Sadam had allowed to UN weapon inspectors to do their job with out interferer from the Iraqi army Sadam could of prevented war.  Furthermore, if there had been unity at the UN Sadam would of seen that his only option was to cooperate with the UN inspectors and again avoid war.

However, many had business relations with Sadam they did not want to be interfered with by supporting the US.  Russia was buying oil from Iraq and taking it out of Iraq through the illegal Syrian pipeline.  Frances then president considered  Sadam a close personal friend.

I found the following quote in a web site called Asia times in article labeled A POLEMIC Germany's leading role in arming Iraq and written
By Marc Erikson.

"In 1991, Iraq fired dozens of scud missiles at Israel and threatened to arm the missiles with poison-gas and biological warheads. Most of the contents of those warheads were made in Germany or made with the aid of German engineers and technology".

Now this is just right down disturbing.  How can any one so harshly criticize president Bush for doing the right thing when they are clearly doing the wrong thing.

It is my contention that the lack of unity in the international community is the cause for the American war with Iraq.  In addition, I contend that foreign leaders had money in their minds when they were speaking against the US.

However, let me get to Mclellan and his book.  It is my opinion that everyone and his mother wants to be rich and famous.  Many think the road to riches is in writing.  Writing, however, is not enough.  You have to write something people want to read.

Nothing sells better then controversy. Madonna, Michael Jackson, Britney, and many more have learned that being an eccentric sells.  Mclellan writes a book that Bush is great and maybe Bush buys the only copy Mclellan sells.  However, if Mclellan writes a book that reinforces the criticisms of the liberal-agenda driven-news media then everyone wants to read it.

Well everyone accept me and many still "holding firm" Bush supporters.  It is my opinion that Mr. Mclellan constructed a book with the intent of maximizing sales. Many of his contemporaries have criticized Mclellan for staying in an environment he was morally opposed to and continuing to cash the paychecks.  I think that is the preverbal head of the nail. To me Mclellan is a person who is just trying to make a buck and has no real morality outside of "money ethics", which to me is "its okay to do it if it will make a buck".

See I remember the long road to the war with Iraq.  One month after the attacks of September 11, 2001 the American military began military action in Afghanistan.  It took almost 18 months for American forces to enter Iraq.  The war against the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan began on October seventh 2001.  The war against Iraq begin March twentieth 2003.

During this time, president Bush spend a lot of time answering all the opposition.  Mr Bush and his secretary of state visited the United Nations.  Bush and company spoke to the press about democrats political opposition to the war.  In 2002 Bush got Sadam to allow the weapons inspectors back in to Iraq.  In addition, we all watched everyone's political posturing.

However, getting the nation ready for war was not easy and it was not done with falsehoods.  Mr. Bush made his case very clear.  He spoke to the people.  Mr. Bush shared intelligence with critical members of congress.  Therefore, for a year and a half Mr. Bush allowed everyone to see his philosophy for war in Iraq.  I think that if he was lying about his motives in those 18 months we would of seen it.

For me the case for war was not WMD's or liberating the people of Iraq.  After 9/11 it was to risky to allow anyone with ability to lend their resources to people who want to harm Americans to act in secrecy.  Iraq was a big threat then.  Iran is an even bigger threat to the US now.  One stat that I have come across in researching Iraq's WMD's under Sadam is that at one time Sadam had 600 tons of a lethal substance.

In article with following author and title Report: Hundreds of WMDs Found in Iraq

Thursday, June 22, 2006

reports,

"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday afternoon.

and

[Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."]

In article with the following attributes  The sounds of silence: Iraq's WMD's Found. written by Joe Marriani on May 28 2004 in the Men News Daily reports:

" The 'mainstream' media has been tiptoeing around the discovery of a 155-mm mortar shell containing Sarin gas in Iraq, the contents of which have been confirmed".

In addition this same article reports " The shell contained three liters of Sarin--nearly a gallon".  This article also states that "Three liters of Sarin is enough, if components are mixed properly, to realistically kill hundreds, and potentially thousands".  Moreover, it states, "A concentration of 100 milligrams of Sarin per cubic meter of air is enough to constitute a lethal dose for half the people breathing it within one minute.

This article goes on to state that Sadam and company had never disclosed having this type of weapons and the international community had no knowledge of Iraq having such a weapon.

The next quotes come from a New York Sun web site.  The article I am quoting from is from interview with "The man who served as the no. 2 official in Saddam Hussein's air force".

This article titled Iraq's WMD Secreted in Syria, Sada Says and written by Ira Stoll on January 26, 2006 makes the following claims:

"...Iraq moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the war by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed."

"There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands," Mr. Sada said. "I am confident they were taken over."

"Mr. Sada, 65, told the Sun that the pilots of the two airliners that transported the weapons of mass destruction to Syria from Iraq approached him in the middle of 2004, after Saddam was captured by American troops."

"I know them very well. They are very good friends of mine. We trust each other. We are friends as pilots," Mr. Sada said of the two pilots. He declined to disclose their names, saying they are concerned for their safety. But he said they are now employed by other airlines outside Iraq.

"

"The pilots told Mr. Sada that two Iraqi Airways Boeings were converted to cargo planes by removing the seats, Mr. Sada said. Then Special Republican Guard brigades loaded materials onto the planes, he said, including "yellow barrels with skull and crossbones on each barrel." The pilots said there was also a ground convoy of trucks."

"The flights - 56 in total, Mr. Sada said - attracted little notice because they were thought to be civilian flights providing relief from Iraq to Syria, which had suffered a flood after a dam collapse in June of 2002."

"Mr. Sada said that the Iraqi official responsible for transferring the weapons was a cousin of Saddam Hussein named Ali Hussein al-Majid, known as "Chemical Ali." The Syrian official responsible for receiving them was a cousin of Bashar Assad who is known variously as General Abu Ali, Abu Himma, or Zulhimawe."

"Short of discovering the weapons in Syria, those seeking to validate Mr. Sada's claim independently will face difficulty. His book contains a foreword by a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, David Eberly, who was a prisoner of war in Iraq during the first Gulf War and who vouches for Mr. Sada, who once held him captive, as "an honest and honorable man."

Okay I will attempt to close.  Yesterday I was again bothered about our integrity.  We live in a world were people will do anything for personal gain.  McCain will say or do anything to get elected, in my opinion.  People such as Mr. Mclellan will do anything to make money.

Where is the regular Joe and Jane America suppose to get the "decoder ring" or "special glasses" to figure out where the truth lies.  For me the bigger question is "how will we recognize the truth when we our selves have compromised our integrity for personal gain.
