Is it social unacceptable to ask the poor why they are poor.  How about how does some one classify poor?  Is a person with a 40k salary, carrying more debt then they can afford a poor person?  For me a person with no income, home, or food is poor.  However this does not mean that I am going to clothe, shelter, and feed them.  If I do  all of these things what is there incentive to do it for themselves?

Yesterday I asked in my BLOG why the poor have children, knowing they cannot afford these children?  Today, I want to meditate on accountability.  This presidential campaign is going to be about the perceived mistake of Iraq, universal healthcare, and helping the unfortunate.

In my opinion, Iraq was not a mistake.  Sadam Huessien was a very dangerous person.  Why else do you develop, biological and chemical weapons and take and interest in nuclear weapons?  In addition, every time the GAO does a study on entitlement programs, this congressional body concludes these programs are going to bankrupt America.  If "social security" and "medic aid/medic care" are close to bankrupting America, how much more will "universal healthcare" and all the new social programs Huessien Obama wants bankrupt America?

What I am seeing is various faces of America.  There are the ones that don't vote.  There are the ones that are carried away by spectacles.  There are the ones that only care about their greed.  There are the ones who will say anything to get elected.  There are the ones who are sincere people who know personal responsibility and a good work ethic.

I am one of these people and asking myself what is my moral obligation towards the poor.  When I say "moral", I am talking about what does God prescribe in the Bible.  I read somewhere in the Bible state help not asking yourself of where they have come from or how they got there. This implies to help without trying to justify if they deserve help.

I have also read in the Bible where God says let he who wants to eat work.  This means every one must work.  Therefore, God says to help.  My dilemma is that I know people who live to take advantage of others.  I also know that it is human nature to be lazy and weak.

In America no one has an excuse for failure.  There are just so many opportunities.   Huessien Obama may think we are still in the racial decided 1960's, but America has transcended this "social ID".  We are now in the era of even if there are two racist bigots there are a lot more who are not racist bigots.

Therefore were is the problem?  If you leave in a nation were you can get educated and with a lot of jobs why are people struggling.  I blame the democrats and the modern media.  Both these factions give a superficial "dream like" perspective of life.  Again yes dreams inspire.  However, not achieving your dreams is not an excuse for giving up and/or engaging in self destructive behaviors.

Lets be honest, for what ever reason, sexual promiscuity, drug use, dropping out of school, fighting with authority, and being a miserable employee will not lead to any level of personal success.

We live in the land of plenty.  Our poverty is one of "poverty of the mind" and "poverty of spirit".  By poverty of the mind I mean not being able to use our ability to think to overcome our challenges.  By poverty of the spirit I mean not having a heart filled with God's love.

The 22 yr old I mentioned in my BLOG yesterday, I told her when things go wrong for us we have a tendency to make our selves feel bad by obsessing on then negative.  However, if we count our blessing and take stock of our "opportunities in potential" then we can be joyous.

Now as for the question "do I have the right to ask the poor why they are poor" the answer is yes.  People have to give an account for why their lives are such a mess.  If I help people who keep making mistakes, then I am facilitating their mistakes.  How can there be progress if the same mistakes are made over and over?

It is my opinion, that Huessien Obama's social policies will facilitate the same mistakes being made over and over again.  In order to help some one you have to restructure the negatives thoughts that keep leading to failure in my opinion.  A government check will not challenge people to learn a new life philosophy.  All it will do is facilitate weak and unmotivated behavior at the expense of the money and positive spirit of successful and productive citizens.

bout the only thing more disgustingly idiotic than your continual attempt to imply obama is a muslim is your inability to correctly spell hussein.

Jesus spoke a parable of the sheep and the goats, which imagined the whole of humanity standing before God in the last judgement. What was the criteria to be in God's favour? It was only one thing; how much you helped the poor. Also, the gospel was preached FROM the poor TO the poor. Luke 6:20 says that the kingdom of heaven belongs to the poor. I could go on for a long time with verses like these, but I think you get my point. If you don't want to feel obligated to help the poor, fine, but don't spread the idea that the bible agrees with you.

You have also taken that verse about eating and working significantly out of context. Slave/destitute churches in Rome had a problem where some were not willing to work because they felt the end of the world was near. However, the survival of the church was dependent of everyone working. This is because at every service they'd share a common meal (called the Lord's supper now) together, and the members of the church would bring their meager slave rations, pool it all together, and share it. If some weren't working and hence not receiving food, but still participated in the common meal, it wasn't fair to the other members. This was also referring to people who willfully refused to work even when they were employed (or owned as the case may be), if someone was too sick to work, or was not able to find work, or worked in such a poor job that they weren't able to feed themself properly, this would have been no problem for paul or the early church.

I disagree. I think his choice of font is more idiotic than either.

(Not that the two are not fairly idiotic...)
