     One of the things that is bugging me is the word “honesty”.  If you know God exist and you don’t talk to him, are you being honest?  Of course the answer is no.  However, what qualifies for honesty for secular people?

     Furthermore, is there only one honest value system?  Well there are many ways to succeed.  In addition, there are many ways to live a life.  However, it cannot all be about feeling good about what we are doing in life.

     I think to many people are bothered by no matter how hard they try they just cannot feel good about their life.  We keep telling ourselves, “all I have to do is this and I will be happy”.  Then, we do what we said we need to do and we still are not happy.  Sometimes we think if we just get “this thing” I will be happy.  Then we get the thing and we still are not happy.

     Therefore, is the idea in life to be happy or is our way of looking at life keeping us from getting what we really need.  Today, I wanted to focus on what a person needs.  However, I realize that people need different things because they were raised by different people in different environments.

      There are conservatives and liberals because of the statement I wrote before.  People are products of their environment.  For the most part the modern world is a liberal world.  I say this knowing liberal radio (air America) does not exist any more.  However, the Russerts, Gibsons, Curics, Snyders, and other news reporters subscribe to the liberal philosophy.

     In addition, the conservative families generate conservatives.   For the most part, the conservatives I know have come from a conservative family or at least a family that practiced conservative values.

     My mother and family are very liberal, products of a liberal information delivery system that has brain washed them.  All of then think Bush has lied and was wrong to go into Iraq.  They also think Bush is responsible for the bad economy.

     I didn’t start honing my conservative personality until I start writing articles for this BLOG.  It is because I worked as a security guard for ten years that I know you do not take risk when you are dealing with irrational people.  My twenty year investment in getting a bachelors degree with a major in psychology has given me a fair sense of how people act.

     Today, I was talking to another soldier on the brink of collapse.  This soldier was telling me that he could not morally justify what he has done in Iraq. I did not hear him say anything that I would judge as illegal, immoral, or improper.  However, he believes he should be an agent of peace not destruction.

     I asked him, “what peace he could have with a murderer”?  He responded “none”.  Then he said, “I know where you are going with this”.  Well, I was trying to make the point that irrational extremist cannot be convinced that peace is  the answer.  I am still concerned over how many people in America think militant extremist in the middle east are regular folk who are attacking America because of what American business’ and American politicians are doing in the middle east.

     These extremist are people who have no regard for life.  They are not trying to enhance the life experience.  They are trying to control every aspect of life and be the ones with all the power.

     This is not a good ideology.  It is not honest.  Extremist are not concerned about the decay of their society.  The religious leaders of the middle east territories are the reason most middle east people live in poverty.  Religious extremist leaders enhance their own lives by talking from their followers.

     Liberals just are opposed to the rules.  The liberal agenda is one of do what you want, if it makes you feel good, and do not worry about the consequences.  Liberals promote pornography, teen-age sexual exploration, drug use, not working, not behaving in school, making God illegal, and breaking the law. Liberals think pornography is a free speech issue.  They think sex is a natural thing and young children should be encouraged to explore.  They are for decriminalization and/or legalization of drug use.  Liberals see discipline in school as child abuse.  Liberals want to facilitate laziness by paying people not to work.  They also think religious people are the problem because we are so rigid with our ideals.  According to liberals criminals just need to be hugged and they will get better. 

     Moreover, the central core argument of liberals is that women have a Constitutional right to kill their unborn children.  The one issue that will start liberals foaming at the mouth is abortion.

     Conservatives of course have a different ideal system.  We believe in personal responsibility. We believe in managing money appropriately.  We believe in taking life seriously.   We do not believe in the principle do what you want if it makes you feel good.  We believe children should respect adults and be raised with values and morals.  We do not believe in the decriminalization and/or legalization of drugs.  We definitely do not believe in abortion.

     I personally do not see how killing the unborn benefits society.   If we are trying to make people capable of coping with life, shouldn’t we emphasize the values that will facilitate this goal. I personally see any person who is so selfish as to willing create a life they do not have any intention of being responsible for as a weak person and a danger to society.  We are not living in the dark ages.  In addition, we know a lot about birth control.  There is not reason for any one to get or get some one pregnant unnecessarily anymore.

    Of course the religious would want people to take life more seriously and wait to get married before having sex.  I have no problem with this principle.  People in the world would suffer less if more people planned their family and not used sex as recreation.

     Moreover, we have seen both sides at work.  During the fifties we saw the age of innocence in America.  Then came the world of liberation.  The exponential decay of society begin after the sixties.  In these decades we have seen the age of pregnancy decrease.  Eleven years is the youngest age I have heard of for a pregnant girl.

     One status I see a lot in people is confusion and an absence of what qualifies for a life in the modern world.  Every generation steps away from marriage and parenthood more and more as time progresses.  What is left is a lot of people who are suffering because they do not know how to have their need for intimacy met.

Therefore, having a choice between liberal modernism or traditional conservatism what choice would you make?  If I could do it all over again I would choose conservatism. I have learned life is better when one follows certain rules.  Like plan ahead.  Set Goals.  Be more concerned about true love than cheap pleasures. Manage your money well.  Take life seriously.  Respect others.
