Okay, politics are driving me crazy.  In addition, before I go on with my rant about immigration let me speak on an issue of individual religious rights.  Laura Ingraham has been absent from duty on her radio show.  There has been a woman named Monica something sitting in for her.

On Friday, this stand by was talking about a military dilemma.  Apparently somewhere in America military service members were holding a group prayer at noon before lunch.  This had become what one person may call a tradition.

Monica was upset that because the complaints of a few the military personnel the military service members in charge had stopped the ritual.  Apparently it may appear the religious rights of the service members may have been violated.  Let me speak clearly here.  The American Constitution restricts  US government from "establishing a religion" and protects the religious rights of the individual.

This is how I organize the issue.  A prayer exercise been lead by military service members as group to the extent that the other people who do not want to participate are constrained by circumstances is in fact a "government established religion".  Military service members are agents of the American government. Holding prayer in an organized fashion as an agent of the US government, in my opinion does violate the US constitution.

Now I am a Christian.  In addition I recognize that people want to congregate with God and with fellow believers.  It is a beautiful expression of love for God and our brothers and sisters.  However, the appropriate place for those activities are churches, homes, minds, fellowship centers and/or home religious meetings.

The US government cannot deny and service member the opportunity to  pray at lunch and/or read his Bible before his meal.  The individual's religious rights have to be respected by the military.  Therefore, is a service member wants to pray in silence as he is sitting in front of his meal the US military cannot touch him.  I do not believe stopping the practice of a group prayer in a Military cafeteria denies the religious rights of the individual.

Now to the other issue occupying space in my mind. Today, I heard reported on the radio that Obama said he wants an immigration policy that will secure the borders and provide “amnesty”.  It is my opinion, that this is a lie.  I am sure Mr. Obama wants to give people a road to citizenship.  I am not convinced he is for securing the borders.

Democrats started making promises to the poor and immigrants a long time ago.  During the late seventies and early eighties democrats bought votes by pandering to supporters of Hispanics.  These democratic politicians promised education, healthcare, work, the right to stay in the country, among other assistance.

It wasn’t until the nineties that republican candidates stared pandering to Hispanics.  Of course, we all know Reagan had amnesty.  However, it wasn’t until the new Hispanic revolution in theater and music that I saw republicans offering promises, to a greater degree than before.

In addition, I know that the reason many work so hard to enter the country illegally is because of all the promises they hear about from friends and the news media.  I live in a border town and listen to  the expectations of people, who profess they came here illegally, from the American government.

In addition, I have reported that Mexican society is falling apart.  The people of Mexico have little trust and respect for government.  Police offers kidnap people and hold them for ransom.  If you get pulled over by a traffic cop in Mexico just pull out a five dollar bill and give it to him and he will let you go.  It is a system of police who are continuously stopping people and helping themselves the people's money.

Another major problem in Mexico is the illegally drug industry.  Police, even supervisors, military, politicians, judges, jailers, and many others work for drug dealers.  Here, in neighboring border city in Mexico there have been around 450 drug related slayings by rival gang members killing each other.  On several occasions people standing near the gunfire have died or been injured.

Therefore, it is not in the best interest of America to import Mexican problems.  I know from first hand experience the moral corruption of the average Mexican.  Every one who bribes a government officials justifies it as something that needs to be done.  Many people in Mexico provide their needs outside the system.  They borrow electricity and almost anything else.

In addition, when in the US many people from Mexico think that because bribes and other illegal activities were acceptable in Mexico then they can do them here.  For instance, many in El Paso, Texas live in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.  However, they bring their children to schools in El Paso, Texas, USA.  All they do is give the public school the address of a friend and/or relative that lives in El Paso.  We actually had a city representative who lived in Mexico.  The law says the rep must live in the district he or she represents.  Another, example of corruption is many in El Paso get away from license plates fees and state of Texas vehicles safety inspections by putting a Mexican plate on their vehicle.  How is the police officer who pulls these people going to know the vehicle has the wrong plates?  Mexican plates are not part of Texas data bank?  Moreover, many on public assistance in Texas are illegal immigrants who have lied to their case worker.

The other more pressing problem is how easy it still is to get in to this country.  I live in a city were I swear Mexican citizens entering the US illegally have learned to walk on water.  The Border Patrol says that they believe less people are crossing into the US because apprehensions are down.  I say apprehensions are down because illegal immigrants have gotten smarter at avoiding apprehension.  I still see the same amount of people walking the streets of El Paso, Texas with wet and muddy shoes and water stains on their jeans up to the knees.

Furthermore, I know politicians will not deal with this issue appropriately.  I have seen decades of politicians pandering to immigrant groups.  In addition, today, close to seven years after 9/11 I have not seen the amount of people I know are illegal decrease in the city I live in, no matter what the Border Patrol says.

Moreover, in this city it is a practice to hire people who only have a tourist visa or no visa.  Some workers use documents that belong to a relative they closely resemble.  Many employers pay in cash.  In my opinion, if the ICE was serious about decreasing illegal immigration they would raid downtown El Paso stores and construction sites on a regular basis.

Now, I do not know what McCain's new immigration policy is today.  I fear he has a public and private policy.  In my opinion, there needs to be zero tolerance.  This means enforcing all the laws and searching and deporting all violators.   American society cannot be compromised by people with decades of morally corrupt behaviors.
