"Ask not what your country can do for you.  Ask what you can do for your country."

Remember this quote?  I believe it was voiced by one of America's GQ presidents.  Now, we are faced with the challenge of another candidate that looks good in Italian suits, but whose policies are bad for America.

Two hundred plus years ago America was formed by people of science, art, religion, and with a proposition of building with their body, mind, and soul.  They fled religious persecution in Europe and some pursued economic dreams in this new area people were talking about.

Today, American society is a mix of dreams but fear of failure.  In addition, this fear leads to dependency.  If I am going to fail, it is better to not try and let government take care of me.  Now, there are many who pursue goals and achieve them.  Unfortunately, many of these people go "money crazy" and start to consume like there is no tomorrow.  Then they stuck with great debt they cannot pay.  Then there are the ones who follow simple basic principles , succeed, and wonder what is wrong with all of us who can't get our stuff in order.

I have lived the tragedy of credit card debt.  With time and discipline I ripped myself away from the credit dragon.  Now, I know people will ask, if this is the type of message that should be delivered on the day the birth of the USA is celebrated by Americans.

I say it is.  The USA gives us a lot.  I do not mean government nor the military.  All over America people will be visiting national parks and other camp areas.  They will be visiting the America before grocery stores and see that America's wild country still has a lot to offer.

In the street jungle, America offers even more.  There are jobs.  Maybe, not the job of your dreams, but many jobs.  In addition, there are numerous business opportunities.  We are without because we want to be empty handed.

Therefore, I think that it is more then important that on this day of the nation's independence we take time to think about everything the nation does for us on a daily basis.  In this country, I drive my cab, enjoy meals, visit with people, and rest knowing I am safe.

Happy Birthday America.  We do not deserve you, but God has blessed us just the same.
