I think I will continue to harp on the moral status of the American voter.  Why do you think people who vote, vote?  I wonder if some one actually cannot see that a fetus is human life.  Furthermore, why can’t people not realize the danger in government excusing people from their personal responsibilities?

I will confess I do believe that some people’s lives are plagued by invisible forces.  I once saw a TV program that chose to ridicule Christian prayer and “laying on of hands” to heal a person who was constantly facing tragedy.  Because of my personal experiences and talks with other people I recognize that some people are struggling with life no matter what they do or try.

However, the majority of people are living the consequences they created by their choices.  Again let me state that playing with life is a sure way to fail.  By “playing with life”, I mean not taking time to think about what you want, what you are doing, and why your doing what you are doing.  Many people are nothing more then a leaf in the winds of life, being taken from one place to another.

How else would explain people having a life they cannot afford?  Life does not just happen.  It takes time to develop.  Years of lack of planning and bad choices lead to people having a life they do not desire.

The reality is that government cannot quell the self-inflicted angst people feel because the conditions of their lives are overwhelming them with fear, trepidation, and depression.  Every one of us has an internal driving forces obligating us to acquire a pleasant and enjoyable life that we can value.  If we make all the wrong decisions, all our overt emotions will cover our spiritual eyesight and we will never recognize the life we want and should have.

This is a personal thing.  It is for me to figure out what will make me happy and fill me with joy.  If I cannot enjoy my life and be grateful for what I have that is my problem.  I have no right to demand government liberate me from my dilemma when I caused the problem with wrongful pursuits.

This why there just needs to be some personal growth and maturity.  We need to recognize we caused the problem and we need to fix it.  Government can give us all the material resources politicians choose.  However, they will never fill our empty spirit.

Therefore, the choice for people in America in the presidential election in 2008 is not whether the person promising hand outs or the person promising efficiency in government gets elected.  The issue is will people continue to exercise their disappointment with life by pressuring government to free them from personal failure.

I always though that, while it's not the Governement's job to make everybody equal - because people are not equal -, it should be the governement's job to give an equal chance to everybody. Or at least make it so that a few people aren't catastrophically handicapped by their ground of growth.

And it is always nice to know that while you tried and failed, you aren't going to loose everything. Nor your family will be completely punished because of it.

That's not a "failure", that's a "stupidity" if you throw away all your family's asset into the roulette.

When I meant "failure", I meant being laid off, being fired, going to jail, etc... At least, it would be nice if the family still will be able to afford school and healthcare

Unfortunately stupidity keeps a lot of people down (and I don't mean to come off condescending, as smart people can do stupid things too). Smart or at least average folks always seem to get back on their feet, of course they are more likely to put something away for just such an emergency.
