Bare Necessities

Alegria Online Mall:  Hotwire, Cheaptickets, WalMart, amd more.

Ok so he is up and running.  Mr. Obama has been a busy person during his first day.  It is reported that he is singing the Freedom of Choice Act.  This a bill he sponsored and which states that “it is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to bear a child, terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability, or terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability when necessary to protect her life or her health.  This act prohibits states and entities from denying abortion rights and gives the woman the right to engage in civil litigation when she believes this rights have been violated.

I wonder who grants this “fundamental right”.  It is obvious to me that it is right granted by the federal government.   Which means it is not a fundamental right.

Mr. Obama has also started working to close Guantanamo and close military operations in Iraq.  I have been saying that Iraq needed to start taking care of their own security since the 2006 elections. My concern, however, is that Iraq may still not be ready to stand on her own two feet, which means all out chaos and the birth of a safe haven for terrorist.

Of no interest to me are his anti-corruption efforts.  He froze staff salaries.  I find it interesting that not even at work for one day and there is concern of raises for his staff.  He also limits staff, when they become ex-staff, from trying to influence his administration. He is even making his staff attend ethics meetings.  All I can say is either he is good at choosing staff he trust or he is not.

For a person who is suppose to be so savvy he sure makes a lot of mistakes.  He nominates New Mexico governor who is under federal investigation.  His treasury secretary nominee knowingly and deliberately did not pay his taxes.  Now, he does not trust the very staff he hand picked.

On the issues that are of concern to me he is on the wrong track.  His economic plan is nothing more then government works projects that will add to the national debt and produce no tax revenue.  Again I say an economically weak nation cannot be a Super Power and there is a need for a Super Power in the world to keep evil men in check.

Furthermore, is the issue of the quality of the future American citizen.  It is troubling to hear a president of the United States talk about how free market system is not the only answer.  It may not be perfect, but it is the system that allows for individuals to create with innovation as they freely pursue their dreams.

Moreover, the free market system allows for rewards for good behavior and punishments for bad behaviors.   Raise your children right and invest in your self and life will be kind to you.  People who are of calm emotions and rational minds do well in this type of system.  Victims of stress, incapable of meetings the demands of life, search for some one or some thing that will take care of them. I have yet to see anything in the air, dirt, or water that infects some one with poverty.

America needs healthy citizens creating with their innovation.  The reason she is a super power is because of the financial rewards of the successful.  I am not just criticizing Obama when I say kill the incentive of people to achieve and you will destroy the nation.

The reality is that people will always adapt to government action. I know that higher taxes will result in less investment in America, which in turn will result in less tax revenue.  I heard on the radio that since Obama’s victory the American market has lost 2000 points.  Now many may want to think this is the result of the economic crisis we are under.  I suspect it has more to do with people not willing to generate wealth that is only going to be taken from them to fund Obama’s grand society.
