Thoughts on the United nations and Medicaid

Innocent until the news media makes you appear guilty by repeating over and over allegations against you.

Today, Mr. George Bush posted the American ambassador to the United States of America.

The news media I observed could only keep mentioning that Mr. Bolton has criticized the United Nations and that he has been accused of abusing his authority in relation to his subordinates.

I used to think you were innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

As far as Mr. Bolton’s criticism of the United Nations are concerned well I have a lot of criticism of this governing body, also. Wait it is not a governing body. It is only debating society.

The previous leader of Iraq was permitted to thumb his nose at this body for twelve years with out even a hair being ruffled.

Atrocities in Sudan and else where continue; again, without any real involvement from the UN.

Therefore, what attitude should any American representative have towards the United Nations?

I personally believe that America leaders should make known that their interaction with this body is going to be limited; in action and in money.

Let regions of the world police their own neighborhoods. After all, they are the ones that have the most to loose.

I come to this conclusion because the rhetoric leading up to the invasion of Iraq showed Americans what actually qualifies for an ally.

The French leader considers Sadam a close friend. The German leader ran an anti-American campaign because he thought that was the only way he could win his election. Russia was buying oil from the illegal Syrian oil pipeline.

I think that many countries of the world wanted to be the ones with close economic ties to Iraq and are brewing over American action because they think this action means the USA is going to have a long term economic benefit from its relationship with Iraq.

I actually do not see how. Iraq appears on the verge of building a constitution with Islam as its backbone.

We have evidence that countries with such structures are repressive and abusive.
I hope that the President of the USA and the congress will be very careful with their interactions with appears is going to be a country lead by Islamic zealots.

Iraq’s people have a great opportunity to step out of the dark ages and build a true free society.

Their destiny is in their hands and what happens next is going to reflect their efforts and attitudes.

Another issue that caught my attention was the conversation on Medicaid.

Let me just say that I am not against senior citizens and I have no desire to cause any one hardship.

My opinion on government programs is simple. They do not work but they convince many people that they are going to work.

We all know health care is a big issue. All of us also were in complete control of our lives at one point. We were free of credit card debt. We did not have the responsibilities of children. In addition, we could have pursued any walk in life.

Therefore, the status of our current life has to do more with the decisions we made than with congress and the president.

I make this point because; I think we all have to be aware that we are going to have to be financially responsible for our healthcare cost through out our life.

My hope is that young people do not fall in to the rhetoric of social security and Medicaid. It is a lie and it is not going to provide adequate coverage.

You are better off working, saving, and growing wealth. In addition, you have to accept the fact that you may live well beyond eighty.

To me this means either having a lot saved up or finding a way to maintain your wealth.

Serious medical hardship is a reality of life. No one can predict it, but we can plan for it.
