SPIRITUALITY AND FAITH
The one missing ingredient many critics of Christians miss is the love of and for God. When you encounter Jesus Christ you realize that a loving God is interested in you. It is this love that energizes your spiritual growth.

In addition, after an encounter with Jesus the Holy Spirit comes and lives in you. From that point forward you will be under the direction of the Holy Spirit who is helping you grow spirituality.

Therefore, critics who have no love for God and/or are not lead by the Holy Spirit cannot understand what it is to be a Christian.

Furthermore, every Christian has the same rights as everyone else and can vote their conscience.

POLITICS
The rest of my BLOG entry today will be on yesterday’s democratic debate. Again let me state I could care less about any democrat. If all the candidates on the debate stage yesterday died in a plane crash I would not share a tear.

However, when you are looking at this stuff you are suppose to try and sound rational and reasonable, not like some raving lunatic.

Therefore, I will speak on the issues.

At this debate Pakistan and Iran among other issues were discussed. Many of these democrats criticized Bush for not demanding of Pervez that he do what he said he would, specifically fighting terrorist.

The internal crisis in Pakistan is the concern of the people of Pakistan. The USA cannot solve the problems of others. It is correct that the U.S. demand some kind of moral standard from her partners.

In my opinion, the only country with some semblance of a moral standard is the USA. The first point I wanted to make today was that we should not assume that other people have the same values as the USA.

The reality is that many other countries are not administered by the understanding of a sense of justice and fair play. For them Jesus left the building a long time ago. In addition, if you look at the last book of the Bible you will see were humanity is moving to in the future.

Imagine how bad the human condition will have to be for people to willing wear the mark of the beast in order to be able to buy and sell. I say we are there already. This world is very far removed from God.
Therefore, when dealing with other nations understand that their goals and interests may not be the same as the US.

As for Pakistan they have to solve their problems. As for the democrats criticizing Bush for being to relaxed in demanding Pakistan provide what they were paid for I think the democrats are short-sighted because I have seen this president be conciliatory and stern with Pakistan. Cheney himself went to Pakistan to express how upset Bush and company are with the growth of Al Qaeda in the Pakistani mountains.

Now on the issue of Iran and Bush’s supposes failure in not having diplomatic relations with Iran. Hello Ms Clinton Bush is following the same policy that was in place when your cheating husband was chasing interns around the oval office.

Speaking with ruthless tyrants only allows other people to believe they can be ruthless tyrants. It is the same principal as not negotiating with terrorist. When you negotiate with terrorist you encourage other terrorist to take hostages.

In addition, I must make my moral point again. The morality of the leadership of Iran and the people of Iran is not up to high standards. If the people of Iran believed in the value of life, decency, justice, fair play, and freedom they would have over thrown their government a long time ago.

It is the responsibility of the people of a nation to reign in their government. God put his morality in all of us. That is why we are upset at injustices. However, the people of a nation have to be of a high moral standard in order to understand why tyranny cannot be tolerated.

In my opinion, to many complain but are not willing to put their life on the line for what is good in life. Because of this fact all nations with tyrants in their leadership need to be shunned by the international community. Unfortunately it seems to me many leaders of nations find making money having more value than high moral standards.

To me all this means that democrats are not fit for service. While watching the debate, I got that same sense that these democrats just do not understand the threat of terrorism. When you say that you need to sit down with the leadership of Iran and establish diplomacy, you really do not understand who the leadership of Iran is.

This is evidence that you do not have the necessary perspective to deal with the challenge. In psychology half of the solution is recognizing the problem. Democrats still think there is no grave threat from Muslim extremist.

The next president needs to understand the need to hunt down and kill as many terrorists as possible.

Now, let me move to the domestic front. Last night during this debate I heard the same old democratic politics. People need assistance and government has to help them.
The only problem is that 95 percent of the people who want to work are working. This whole year I have been hearing from the news that the US has had the longest job growth during Bush’s term in office.

Last month I heard that many of 160,000 jobs made that month were skilled good paying jobs. Regular people have so much money that they are becoming real estate speculators.

How come in this supposed economic crisis many people have money to save and invest. Where is this country in economic crisis?

I think democrats are the party of the 15 percent that just cannot get their business in order. I am not responsible people who have dropped out of high school, got pregnant young, are addicted to drugs and alcohol, have a bad attitude, and want to blame everyone else for their self-imposed tragedy.

Clinton and Obama were dueling over the 6 percent of top earners in America. The issue was whether to tax this top 6 percent and make one trillion to preserve social security.

A while ago I wrote and article about the Big Lie of social security. No one should be counting on social security for his or her retirement. If you are, you are a fool and deserve everything you get, which will probably be dog food for dinner.

In my opinion, social security should be done away with and people should be personally responsible for their own retirement.

To me the moral question of robbing the rich in order to provide for the poor is wrong. Everyone should pay their own way. Again, God said it best. “Let he who wants to eat work.”

People with wealth invest, open business, create jobs, and pay enough in cooperate taxes and personal taxes. Chaining them with higher taxes will diminish investment and economic growth.

In order to have a strong country you need strong citizens who can meet the challenges in life, not a bunch of weaklings addicted to government dependency.

You know that there is nothing in the air or water that infects a person with poverty. Every one in the USA has the same opportunity to participate in the productive economy.

There is education for all up to high school. There are college grants and low interest loans. There are many divers economic niches were a person does not even need a college degree.

I myself, even though I have two college degrees, am running my own taxi and fixing my business economic goals for a 30k annual income. I really did not need to invest in college.

I probably would of save myself a lot of frustration and money. However, I will say that because I did earn a BS with a major in psychology from a regionally accredited Christian university I can analyze the issues of today with a little more then a lay person’s understanding.

Plus I can still pursue the PhD.

Well back to the democrats. Immigration is still let me pander and condescend to the Hispanic lobby. I was born in Mexico-not by choice- and the democrats blatant pandering to Hispanics offends me.

I see it this way. Either you are American or your something else. Speaking Spanish and living in a border town allows me the opportunity to hear the attitudes of Hispanics. Let me tell you hard working tax paying American that the standard generic attitude from Hispanics is poor.

Everyone else is responsible because they have it so bad and that means they have the right to take what they want. Furthermore, these are not nice people. Modern people are suffering greatly from the stress of living in an industrial society.

Many were never thought the value of work and/or the new economy. Many in the Hispanic community want to make it as plumbers, construction workers, farmers, and other manual labor jobs.

The problem is we live in an ever-changing world with technological advances changing the job landscape everyday.

I am sitting in my taxi, writing on my laptop, and ready to post an article on my BLOG by being hooked in to the internet by built in wireless device.

The idea that you will not educate yourself and succeed in a modern technological world is a fallacy. However, many in the Hispanic community think that they just have to wait for the right job to come along.

Jobs pay low wages. Careers are where the money is at. Though you can make it with out a formal education, you still need some understanding of the modern world, not a bad attitude with a cynical perspective

I can tell you that I was a big fan of education. I am not anymore. Last night at the debate public education was also discussed.

Let me tell you that in my 8 years as substitute teacher I saw a public school system that lives to psychologically torture your children. I must return to my principal statement on public education.

“If you love your children you will take them out of the public schools.” I am sure there are good teachers. The problem is they are in a perverse and corrupt system. In the last few years I have heard of schools wanting to teach grade school kids about the Homosexual lifestyle, immunizing middle school girls for STD without the consent of the parent, and giving birth control to young girls in the public schools.

What has become of the parent’s right to parent? If you want your child to treat sex as a game and loose all semblance of a true identity well what can I do? However, if you want to subject every one to your warped philosophy of life I think I am going to have some thing to say.

Who am I kidding? I will always have something to say. Today, I tell you that I saw democrats who want to take an economically healthy country with productive citizens and turn in to a bunch government service junkies dying from terrorist attacks.

Is Jesseledesma Spanish for "Lucas Bailey"?

They let illegal aliens teach in our schools? I would like to see THAT scandal uncovered!

Ummmm, can you please tell me what the Homosexual lifestyle is? As a gay man, I've never quite figured this out, maybe I need lessons. I'd bet my lifestyle isn't a whole lot different than yours. (Except my work, that's a little weird) But the rest of it's probably similar. At least, I hope it is, I'm really happy, love God, love my partner, my family, my home.

Si.

Don't you watch South Park?  The only time they learned anything was when the Mexicans were teaching.   It was the lesbian 300 spoof episode.

Is Jesseledesma Spanish for "Lucas Bailey"?

Actually (this is the Spanish student speaking here) I finally figured out the etymology of the word yesterday.

It is not, in fact, "Lucas Bailey". It's actually Spanish for "freakin' retard".

So it IS Spanish for Lucas Bailey!

o it IS Spanish for Lucas Bailey!

Actually, Lucas Bailey would translate to "retarded simpleton". There's that extra pejorative inherent in the "Bailey" that "Ledesma" lacks.

Now, now, I personally am glad Jes is writing and has lots of good points and things to say. I enjoy trying to understand her point of view. Plus, she has a good sense of humor, and is very open to new ideas. So let's not be to personal in our attacks, please?

I was even thinking in the shower how surprising it was for someone so religious (which I respect) to not be at all upset if a bunch of democrats bit the bullet. I thought about that pretty hard. I can tell you, if, let me see, Denny Hastert, Rove, Rick Santorum, and (I know!) Mel Gibson all went down in a plane crash, burning horrible deaths, I would be VERY upset. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Jesse actually is a HE, and there's a reason for our reply.

See, Jesse came here illegally and it appears may still be here illegally. Yet he speaks out routinely against illegals and wants to see them all deported (except him) and a wall built. I know you're newer to JU, but trust me, joe, I don't throw my scorn about lightly.

As for Lucas...well, you'll just have to find THAT one out for yourself

Oh, my bad. I knew as I was writing it I was probably in error. I had a stringy hair blonde girl in my mind, hunt and pecking her way across the keyboard every morning, pounding out messages about jesus and other thoughts. Boy, what a way to blow a mental pic.

Sorry Jesse about mistaking your sexual identity. It was an honest mistake, and I'm not being my normal sarcastic and jaded self.

as for the immigration references, jesse, is that true? fill me in on your thinking. please don't prove me wrong (that you're not crazy) and Hannibal right (that you are crazy).

God be with you,

With that said, how on earth can you support the war in Iraq? That was us trying to solve others' problems...huh.

I noticed no one took me up on explaining the "homosexual lifestyle" to me. I'm so glad. I was prepared for a bunch of stereotyping.

Now, I really must go, watch Project Runway and drink my Appletini while Butch gets the leather chaps ready for tomorrow.
